Lol, the French and also British always liked to burn down or destroy other people's grand palaces and buildings out of jealousy, what are these barbarians. The French and British first looted all the treasures in the magnificent Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan) in Beijing and then burned it down. The British also burned down the American White House when they occupied Washington. This Kinh Thien palace looks much like Chinese palace building in Beijing.
