Except that is exactly what they did in Syria. Took towns and villages. Even Israel admitted HZ learned how to become a more conventional force by getting experience taking and keeping territory. It fought in numerous battles against tens of thousands of terrorists throughout the civil war. Battle of Yabrud is just one example.

This isn’t Hezbollah of 2006.

They fought against ill equiped force in comparation with IOF but i also think that they would be able to achieve some territorial gains and be able to keep but question is if the cost of it would be justified in terms of life and material sacrificed.

Yes, he took it against the ISIS, a counterinsurgency army. Do you really think that the same application would be valid for the IDF conventionally?

It seems like Iran is planning on repeating its embarrassing tactics from the Operation Martyr Soleimani.

Limiting yourself will only embolden Israel in the long term.

Hopefully, I'm wrong and Iran will exercise no restraint.

Iran is dealing with a crazy state. There is no way to fear reprisal from a lunatic hoping that he will act in accordance with a sense of morality, Iran is right to fear it, but this madman's aggression deserves a proportional or greater response.
