France should send Le Vigilant to the Persian Gulf to help defend France's oil supply.

Petrol and diesel prices in France are in historical high prices.

But to nuke suppliers wont make it cheaper :ROFLMAO:

There are only four countries in the world which have fully mastered the intercontinental SLBM, and France is one of these four countries.

Also, it is also the only sovereign nuclear power in the Europe.

sovereign technology is relative when you use foreign made electronics and you whole state is infiltrated by usa, maybe usa has the kill switch of those slbm.

No!

Among all the nations of Europe, France possesses the strongest sense of independence—bar none.

Although the pursuit of independence is fraught with difficulty, France’s commitment to it is undeniably the most resolute. By comparison, one would be hard-pressed to find another European nation with such a fully realized sense of independence.

We need to distinguish between a "sense of independence," "slogans of independence," and "pragmatic compromises."

They will not allow the Americans to intervene, to the extent that it is within their power to prevent it. As for the realm of submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs), they possess the capability.

are you kidding?

do you think americans ask permission?

same way a smartphone can be remotely hacked, a military hardware can be too.

how many semiconductors factories has france? they rely in imported technology.

and even having own factory, people can be bribed.

france behavior towards ukraine is any thing except sovereign and independent from usa.

maybe once upon a time france was sovereign with general de gaulle, but it's not happening anymore, and even happening key individual could be bribed.

i wouldnt trust so much in those hi tech weapons will work if usa doesnt want it.

how independent could be a country with a president former employee of rothschild bank? it seems a joke.

Not sure if the French SLBM got American components, but it uses the purified 99.9999% heavy rare earth elements like the dysprosium and terbium were definitely provided by China's refinery.

Maybe they can use this to handle the protests thru out their country rigth now…..those have spread like fire and europe seems unstable now

Cuts to services to aid ukraine are not going well with the locals

It seems you haven't read my comments carefully.

We need to distinguish between a "sense of independence," "slogans of independence," and "pragmatic compromises."

Sense of independence.
This is a core driving force at an internal level. It represents the primary direction of one's inner thought process when encountering problems and seeking solutions.

Slogans of independence.
This is a performative phenomenon. The person performing appears eager to act this way, yet their inner convictions do not actually align with that stance.

Pragmatic compromises.
This is a strategic course of action adopted when one is compelled by real-world pressures to act against one's own wishes.

France possesses the strongest "sense of independence" among all European nations. However, in reality, the French cannot always call the shots entirely on their own and are often forced to make "pragmatic compromises." You need to carefully distinguish between these different phenomena. In areas where they have the capacity to make decisions independently, their primary driving force remains a "sense of independence."

However, the situation is quite the opposite in many other European countries. While these nations actually possess the ability to foster a "sense of independence" in various respects, they have voluntarily chosen to forgo it.

This represents a fundamental difference.

That’s a misleading discussion.
Rare earth is used in powerful magnets. Nice to have but build nuclear submarines you really don’t need it. Germany fired V2 ballistic missiles on London during WW2, the US built nuclear weapons long before rare earth discovered and widely used.
The French don’t need anything from the US.

The cold war ICBM didn't need the rare earth, but it got bad accuracy, not payload efficient compared to the modern ICBM, and also very prone to electronic jamming.

Same for the nuclear subs, the cold war ones were very crude with primitive electronics.

Yes of course, thanks to technical progress nuke today is more efficient more deadly than 60 years ago, like electric car today compared to electric car 10 years ago.
As for the French, just idiotic thinking, France depends on the US for own survival.

the electronic part that gets rf signals is the vulnerable part that could have remote kill switch by usa, it's not rare minerals. e.g: gnss guidance, that must use usa gps.

no proves but no doubts usa can hack remotely every smartphone, fighter jet and advanced european military hardware, missiles and antimissiles. smash against the ground and looks like accident.
