Pakistan Army | News and Discussions

The only reason the army did not carry it out was because they were afraid of failing. And that is why i was angry. If you can not be confident of carrying out such an operation, it's better for you to disband you spec ops operations all together. Infact this is what those units have been created for. This is why the army gets the big bucks, so they carry out such operations. Period. It was not for citizens of other countries, your own citizens needed your help and you failed them, Period! And we all know for a fact that if the army was confident in their success the government would not have stopped them. We as people and the 0.1% and all the other things you mentioned are pointless regarding what happened.

It's very simple:
You could not carry out a task in your job description, one of your main tasks. You have failed at your job. The End

Edit: it could also just be that the army/gov did not give a shit because it was not theirs or some rich business man/woman's children/relative. Just ordinary pakistanis, who cares about them, right?
That also is anger - but the logic fails.
There is no fact as you claim that the government would not stop them and there is no fact that the operation would fail or not.

Spec ops is nothing more than additional training - experience and mental conditioning - it is not some guarantee of success and to assume it so is ignorance which can be wilful if driven by emotion or plain lack of knowledge.

If you know the "success" rate of cars you would not get in them - not fly in planes and not take a disprin for a headache.

Yet you do - dont you? Pay your own money to do so - dont you?

So while you are good to express your anger - it carries little weight on the actual reasons why the operation was or was not carried out.

Yes, there is a high possibility that nothing was done because the people involved were not worth anything to the elite ruling Pakistan - that is a much more plausible explanation than the first paragraph of yours.

Because they know you have NOTHING more to throw at them other than angry words or at best smashing a window here or there - why should they worry about you and risk even the 0.001% possibility a rescue fails?

you have completely misunderstood my initial post. Where have you taken this discussion. I said I was angry since they did not carry out the operation. they should have carried out the operation. U have also said they should have done so. Period

You accuse me of being emotional. Lol kindly read ur last paragraph.

I was in a hurry when I replied to you. Now that i have read your post let me reply to it properly and we can end this discussion.

How does the logic fail? I have mentioned the word fact twice. One to say that the government would not have stopped the army from carrying out the operation. And that is true. The army does what it likes when it comes to this government. The seconed time I mentioned the word fact I said thats what spec ops are supposed to do, carry out such tasks. Don't get what the issue is.

second..I never said they would succeed 100%. I said they should have carried it out. Were they afraid of failing and therfore did not do so. God alone knows. I know what they are and what they are supposed to do. So no, I do not lack knowledge.

Thirdly, you said success rate of cars, I think you meant drivers. Cars are reliable, it's the drivers that cause an accident. Safety wise, they are also safe, so don't get your example, like wise aeroplanes are extremely safe. So both examples are totally wrong

Fourth, my anger/opinion obviously has no bearing on what should happen. That is 100% a fact. Lol. Your opinion as well carries no weight since the army or gov is not reading pakdefence to decide what to do. Lol.

lastly I mention 2 possible reasons why they did not carry out the operation. Firstly the army was afraid of failing and the other was that they were not bothered about the people. The first point is because you mentioned in your reply that they might have considered the repercussions if some of them died. So my explanation is yours as well. Atleast we both agree they did not do anything because our lives dont mean jack to them

Anyhow, It's done and over with. The families got some money atleast and I hope it does them good because they not only lost love ones but also earners.

No, you said they should not have special forces simply based on the idea that they did not carry out this operation.

I gave you the various reasons operation could not have been carried out.

You then pivoted and accused them of knowing they would fail and being incompetent - I provided why it is based on probability and oppotunity cost of conducting the op.

You now have decided to simplify all of that to retain your anger which you yourself acknowledged and now are instead trying to accuse me of projecting anger simply because you are unable to accept the reasons since they dont align with the message you want to deliver.

What part of my last paragraph is emotional?

And there is no compulsion on you to accept that message - but you cannot post half baked accusations without expecting replies.

I have not posted half baked accusations. I am clear with what i said.

They did not carry out the operation, which they should have done. Thats what they are trained for and if they can't seem to do so then yes, they failed. There is no justification for not saving your citizens. Nothing is more important than that. The best spec ops around the world(or atleast considered the best or the pioneers of such a group) have proven that to be the case. They are there to protect their citizens and also to carry out such high risk ops.

The only reason i can think of that they did not carry out the op is prob because they don't care. But if it is because they felt they would fail or if they felt they could not achieve their objectives or they were not confident in succeeding 100% then they have failed at their primary task. An army is meant to protect their citizens and land.
If someone disagrees with that well then, i can't change thier mind, and all I have to say to them is, lets agree to disagree.
