Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

I think both Turkey and Pakistan just embarrassed themselves by signing the Mecca pack , I hope at least Saudis paid them in cash
the saudis didnt pay even last time
they only threatened Pakistanis that they will be kicked out of Saudi Arabia just like UAE has done.
sadly only the military and political leadership will be paid and given a place after retirement. the cannon fodder sent there wont get much other than prayers and best wishes.

The accuracy of Houthi missile attacks is impressive. Of course, it does mean they are deliberately targeting civilian economic infrastructure.

But leaving that aside (since everyone is doing the same), it begs the question why Tehran did nothing of substance to UAE's economy during months of conflict, when their targets are literally sitting ducks. Iranians should consider asking some serious questions of their own government.

Far from being liberators of the oppressed, it seems that Tehran and Sanaa both have a set price, perhaps known only to them.

Turkey and Pakistan haven't started playing the game yet , once they started even the deaf will hear the cries of the houthis and Iranians .

It is funny to see all wahabi khawarij @battalion25 @ mythbuster and their cia handler F22 Raptor here jumping up and down on some unverified news after getting thrashed by Houthis the last month. According to these guys the Houthis did not even advance and all their offensive had failed; but now all of a sudden these same people are claiming Saudi backed forces are liberating areas from the Houthis in bab al Mandeb 🤣🤣. So the question is were you lying before when you claimed houthi offensive failed and all their territorial gains were a farce or are you lying now when you claim Saudi backed forces are retaking Houthi captured territory?
you see, unlike you, we got to make a living and avoid getting kicked out of the middle east without a fault of our own. so .. its our duty to justify saudi and Emerati spread of halal wars across and also respond with whataboutism and point at Klingons, Iran, Uganda, Nepal and my in Laws if we are criticsed for offering our lives for house of Saud with Golden toilets.

I oppose any war against Yemen but people on PDF will realise soon that small militias can be defeated when a few nations get together. Pakistan and Turkey will defend Saudis and will downgrade and finish off Houthis. Israel will also join them. Its unfortunate but muslim leadership sells their souls for petrodollars.

Pakistan is joining Saudi camp due to the reasons you mentioned plus pro Saudi militias/ideology in Pakistan will take Pakistan side against the Taliban in Afghanistan. After Houthis Pakistan will want Saudis to help topple Taliban government or pacify them. Already ISIS is spreading.

The 2026 US-Iran war greatly boosted China’s energy exports. China’s export revenue of new energy products jumped 50%, while its refined oil exports grew by 24.7%.

China ought to thank Iran for blockading the Strait of Hormuz.

Incredibly Yemen has so far escaped being carpet bombed despite 3 posts demanding the alliance to do so.

Certainly have to agree with this on current evidence! 👍

Personally, I am more hopeful for an autocratic regime than a representative democratic one though, for a variety of reasons that do not need elaboration on for now.
@Blain2
For the sake of discussion, lets assume that autocratic governments in some developing countries, like Pakistan, make sense because, for a host of reasons, achieving a democratic consensus on critical structural reforms is next to impossible.

My issue with the Fauj is that it has had more than enough opportunities, through direct and hybrid martial laws, to do exactly that and it has failed. It failed because these periods of martial law were personality rather than institution driven, and the ‘personalities’ have continued to believe they can have it both ways - overthrow governments and then install puppet ‘elected governments’ so they can appear to be a ‘democracy’.

This whole approach is the problem- if the Fauj didn’t trust the politicians, then the Fauj should have done what the Iranians did and built up a system with a clear and formal role for the Fauj as an institution and not have it revolve around the individual of the Army Chief.

Hence my lament - Pakistan continues to suffer under incompetent dictatorships and hybrid regimes cobbled together by the Fauj, with no long term plan.

Why demonize fascist regimes of Mussolini and Hitler ? Both were popularly elected and both delivered more than they promised ?
