Why yo*thias are trying to create a fuss regarding minerals in KPK. A former PTI insider's view.

The number of licenses issued for minerals since 1947 to 2013 (when PTI goons were installed in KPK) was merely 482. Now compare it with the number of licenses issued in 13 years of PTI provincial KPK government, that is, more than 4430. It's a massive increase which must ring alarm bells in the concerned federal departments.

Most of these licenses were allegedly issued to Aleema Khan's sons (hence she owns properties in overseas with income from 'sewing machines') and Murad Saeed's kins.

It's not the case that these two crooks have any background or business related to mining and its processing. These bloody crooks allegedly sell these permits/licenses to part time smugglers. Then whatever they get from these mines (especially precious stones) end up in Afghanistan and then India.

Most of the proceeds are allegedly used for terrorism in Pakistan.

That may very well be another aspect of the evil alliance between PTI and the terrorist TTP.

Smuggling, drugs, and terrorism are very closely correlated in Pakistan.

Why would the GoP have to declare emergency to get access to minerals?
Do you understand how "national resources and assets" work?

They are not a "provincial" property. Just like natural gas from Sui was used all over Pakistan, and water from Kashmir, KP is diverted to all other provinces, the federation has access to such resources and no province can veto that.

The provinces are paid back through NFC awards. The federation invests to recover the natural resources in the respective provinces, a portion of these proceeds/upsides are repatriated back to the provinces through NFC award.

The provinces have and do negotiate for various things with the center and this is how this gets worked out. From time to time, you will hear etho-nationalist voices claiming "center is exploiting our wealth", the reality is that the provinces themselves don't have the means to invest in such things all by themselves. As an example, even for Sui gas and other reasons, Balochistan has consistently been given a much greater share of NFC per-capita than other provinces.

Imagine oil being discovered in a part of the country, does that province only benefit from such a discovery? That isn't how the rest of the world works.

My point is that having a "conviction" from court for political leaders is the norm in Pakistan. It has already happened with Zardari, Nawaz, Maryam etc in the past. Now it's Imran's turn. What's the "big deal" about it?

These are their demands in broad terms. The exact implementation of how a peaceful solution could be reached has never been explored in depth. There was one point where Pakistan was getting close to some agreement in the late 2000s and Americans drone strike'd the guy we were talking to. The brunt of the fallout of course, went on Pakistan.

FATA Merger - Could honestly be reversed. What is the big deal about it? These people are called tribal for a reason. Keep them separate from the more urban KPK. We were asking for more provinces anyway.

Sharia Law - Again, super conservative tribal area. These people are NOT driving around on weekends going to watch Spiderman and chill in cafes. They're mostly mountainous goat herders

And the buck goes both ways. I only hear announcements of 'moo tor jawab' and 'befitting response' on this forum, but where is the depth and capability to carry out such a counter-insurgency? What exactly is the plan now that emergency lagaadi hay KPK may. Are we going to repeat the whole operation cycle now, internally displace thousands of people, put them in camps or what? When it ruins KPK then what? Army washes its hand of it and blames it on Shahbaz Sharif?

What exactly is the army's plan to eradicate terrorism? Beyond the cool edits and ISPR dramas, what is the actual plan. Are we going to flatten KPK and try to do a Tamil Tigers repeat? How is the Army going to man the border? How will it clamp down on the crossing of people and items across the borders?

Has the army been inspiring in its performance so far? Absolutely not. It's dismal. The kill ratio are embarassing, the tactics are unevolving, the equipment is lacking. These are all real issues that unfortunately even when highlighted on this forum certain crowd either swoops in to lock the thread or defend their heroes blindly.

What exactly is the plan and how will Pakistan succeed where USA + NATO combined failed in a whopping 18 years?

If you have never seen or heard about PTI's peaceful resolution plan then how can you trust that their plan will work? So basically you are literally taking PTI's "trust me bro" too seriously.

No, absolutely not. Pakistan should not sacrifice its sovereignty to satisfy few 1000 fighters from Afghanistan and Pakistan who have taken our land and people hostage. Considering Afghanistan's government and its citizens animosity towards Pakistan is all time high, there will be a high possibility that FATA may eventually merge with Afganistan to fulfill their lost tribe dream. Also if that happens then Afghans without any check and balance move into FATA and claim this is their ancestral land and have been living there for 1000s of years.
Majority of locals wants to live with Pakistan not under a autonomous tribal system that is misrepresenting Islam.
You are essentially surrendering to their terms and condition and essentially fking up Pakistan's future with your short term political gains.

Seriously hope your opinion does not turns out to be PTI solution which is nothing less then an outline of Balkanization of Pakistan.
