Federal cabinet gives nod to imposition of emergency in KP; summary sent to president

When a child plays with matches, it is problematic, whether he succesfully starts a fire or not.
What's that supposed to mean? You think voting age citizens (18+) of Pakistan are STILL children — and thus should be "controlled" by military establishment? 🙄

Are you trying to demonstrate otherwise? I am yet to be convinced.

"The Field Marshal has made it clear that the public must stay away from terrorists; then crushing them is our job. Do not provide shelter to terrorists in your midst, otherwise there will be collateral damage. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi"

zarb-e-azb 2.0 is coming.

JUIf is in death bed. Their TTP producing madrassas will be reformed or shut down. They can move to Afghanistan instead.
Power will be degraded but JUI has big connections in GCC; all needed is one phone call. Whats unfortunate is JUI will be tackled by Jolani types who are being funded right now, mullahs screaming Pakistan Zindabad, all to get the backing. Its same old game being played. JUI is not weak though, they have big backing in Pakistan, even in elite circles.

My norwegian nigga...please try to understand, democracy in Pakistan IS THE PROBLEM.
Under a purely representative democratic system, we are a perfect example of Plato's ship without an expert crew. Long march after long march will leave the country crippled and a laughing stock. Plato argued for a council of wise and qualified philosophers, to replace the demagoguery of representative democracy. This is precisely the plan in Pakistan and it is already happening. Long overdue if you ask me!

Good post.
Indeed, the Pakistani nation has finally realized the failed 'democracy' experiment since the death of Zia in 1988 has put Pakistan behind regionally otherwise Pakistan was ahead in many ways through the 80s. Facts speak for themselves. BTW, I hate Zia with a passion but got to say Pakistan was better managed under him. As soon the 'democrats' like Benazir and Nawaz came to power starting late 80s, institutions like PIA and Steel Mills and much more started going bad.

But no more! A Hybrid system is formed where there is enough people's representation but with a firm hand to make sure they don't repeat their mistakes of the past.

To the fascists of Imran Khan: Your Messiah Khan could not even face a simple requirement of a No Confidence Motion which was tabled in the same National Assembly which had elected him the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The stupid coward had violated the Const. of Pakistan by throwing out the NCM. And here you guys are out to lecture us about his democratic credentials?!!

Surprised that you think any Gulf state can have such an influence on Pakistan. The security situation in the KPK is too important to be ignored. There will be no Jolani like thing to tackle the militancy: The security forces, including a revived KPK Police will do the job with the tribals helping.
But you are right in a way: The Maulana Fazlu is going to survive. He and his party has been around for decades. They maybe diminished but going to limp on and get a few seats in the assemblies here and there.

Because it was Saudi funding which build the 40k maddrassas, masajids, the literature, new quran translations, media campains, University recruitment drive, media, fatwas. So they will protect their main assets, same way our military protects their non state actors.

Good point, the best plan is strong counter terrorism force plus tribal help but historically our rulers turn towards different groups or work on creating new ones and Jolani types are successful project as proven in Syria, he gives and takes, during jihad anti Usa and west, after Jihad hugging the same. Once upon a time Taliban were successful until they refuse to be puppets.

My take is we should fear Allah almighty and stop brainwashing and turning children in to terrorists, instead promote education, peace and build great hardworking citizens.

I think after 9/11, the rich Arab countries stopped such policies. Maybe some private individuals maybe funding the Madrassahs with a misguided 'charity' or for 'Islam' but I don't think Arab nations follow the same policies as were before 9/11.

Pakistan's tribal areas maybe very conservative but no comparison with the sectarian and ethnic frictions of the Middle East. The Jolani types don't just sprout from the ground; the ground has to be fertile for that, which I don't think Pakistan's tribal areas are. They are mostly patriotic Pakistanis except for some misguided Pan Pashtuns with ties with Afghanistan.

Totally agreed!

I wish that was true but remember times have changed, social media is the biggest brainwashing tool these days, they invest heavily and changed their tactics. For example you would not follow a maddrassa type of molvi but if he is well dressed, groomed and has Dr next to his title, he will certainly attract an educated city man but the ideology is same as the maddrassa mullah. The reason they do it the same reason western world pumps billions to spread seculariam, atheism and liberalism. The more it spreads the more power and loyals you possess.

Jolani and many militants were outsiders, but over a decade they slowly recruited and brainwashed more Syrians. Before the toppling of Bashar Al Assad government Syria was a secular moderate state, now slowly going extremism.
Totally agreed!
If only our rulers did this, we be producing millions of patriotic educated youth, the perfect move to counter extremism and separatism.

In other words — you have a "problem" with adult citizens (18+) of Pakistan exercising their free democratic rights as per constitution of the country — but no problem at all with a military establishment imposing their will on the people by repeatedly taking away that inalienable right from the people for the past 70+ years? 🙄

He sounds just like a "governor" of Palestinian Territories occupied by military of Israel 🇮🇱
