Türkiye - Azerbaijan | Strategic Partnership, Regional Alliance, Military Cooperation - News & Updates

ok, guys, too much tension and cursing, I'm going to temporarily lock the thread, clean it up and everyone cool off a little bit, i will reopen later.

@hyperman

I have read somewher about Azerbadjian siding with Israel to provoke separtists in Iran in early begin off the war but didn't see the source really strong, now it looks they are going to start that operation and Azerdbadjian is sided with zionists. If this happens i will name it sionisjian.

Aliyev would be insane to do this.

There is no way if they actually try to fight Iran that Turkey will get involved on their behalf.

History repeats itself
Ingratitude and deep-seated complexes, meanwhile, are traditional.
Following World War I, after Armenian and Bolshevik gangs carried out massacres in Baku and seized the city, a request for military aid was sent to the Ottoman Empire.

The Caucasus Islamic Army commanded by Nuri Pasha, who was appointed by Enver Pasha fought for 4 months and, at a great cost, succeeded in recapturing Baku.

Yet, even before the war had fully concluded, the Azerbaijani elite fearing Ottoman hegemony abruptly shifted their allegiance. When the Ottoman Empire was compelled to withdraw (under the terms of the Armistice of Mudros), they sought to sustain the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic this time under British patronage

And how long did this Republic last after the Ottoman withdrawal?
A mere 23 months.
What followed was 70 years of Russian subjugation.

Those who did not want Turkish hegemony remained under Russian hegemony for 70 years.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fast forward to September 2020.

With the full backing of Türkiye, Azerbaijan launched a campaign to reclaim Karabakh, which had been under occupation for 30 years.

1 -- Turkiye stood alone in weathering the diplomatic pressure and threats leveled by France, the United States, Russia, and Iran.

2 -- The Turkish Armed Forces, at the level of the General Staff, supported Azerbaijan at virtually every stage of the conflict

3 -- As Turkish TB-2 UCAVs systematically took out Russian-made Tanks , Howitzers , MLRS and Air Defense Systems

535 out of the 772 neutralized targets were directly struck by Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs

4 -- Tensions with Russia escalated significantly, yet Turkiye never took a step back.

5 -- France claiming that Türkiye had crossed a "red line" by allegedly transporting Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters to Karabakh, effectively issued an informal ultimatum which Türkiye disregarded entirely.

6 -- The OSCE Minsk Group (the US, France, and Russia)
condemns Türkiye’s involvement in this conflict at the highest level and repeatedly calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities; yet, Turkiye remains unyielding.

7 -- The US Senate and the State Department suggest that sanctions should be imposed on Türkiye, but Turkey is prepared to face such consequences.

8 -- The Ministry of National Defense declares: "Azerbaijan is not alone.
Guided by the motto 'Two States, One Nation,' we will continue to stand by our Azerbaijani brothers—in whatever way and whenever they desire—with all our resources, our hearts, and our military capabilities,"

9 -- Turkiye deployed F-16 Fighter Jets in Ganja to protect Azerbaijan

10 -- Turkish Air Force E-7T AEWC and KORAL Radar Electronic Warfare Systems helped Azerbaijan to find and destroy Armenian Air Defense Systems

11 -- Canada suspends the sale of WESCAM electro-optic cameras used in Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs to Turkiye and revokes the relevant licenses, citing their use against Armenian positions in Azerbaijan.

12 -- The European Parliament spent days calling for sanctions against Türkiye and initiates efforts to suspend arms agreements.

In short, Turkiye is portrayed by much of the global public as the "mastermind" behind the Karabakh War.

In other words, Turkiye effectively shoulders the diplomatic and political costs of the conflict almost entirely on its own despite not being a direct party to the fighting.

13 -- It does not stop there;
with the Shusha Declaration, signed on June 15, 2021, Turkiye officially places Azerbaijan under its full protection.

As for the current situation,
Azerbaijan has expanded its strategic partnerships with Israel in the fields of defense, trade, and energy.

Baku has become a primary operational hub for the Mossad in the Caucasus (ostensibly to counter the threat from Iran). Amidst the tensions between Türkiye and Israel, the Azerbaijani elites are increasingly gravitating toward Israel, while accusing Türkiye of attempting to act as a hegemon.

In short, history is repeating itself once again.

Despite all this disloyalty and the fact that none of these counterparts are its equal in any sphere (be it military, economic, historical, or strategic)
the Turkish State, true to its profound tradition of statecraft, steadfastly maintains its role as the "patient elder brother."

This is because the Turkish State does not act based on mere emotion.
Yet, let it not be forgotten:
The Turkish State never forgets how it has been treated.

Azerbaijan is not equal to Turkiye

ALIYEV doesn't know his place

1 -- Turkiye is a G-20 Country and has bigger GDP Nominal than almost Azerbaijan+Israel+Iran+Egypt+Greece combined

Turkiye : $1,817 trillion
Israel : $746 billion
Egypt : $442 billion
Iran : $311 billion
Greece : $304 billion
Azerbaijan : $78 billion

2 -- Turkiye is only industrialized Country in the region
not Israel , not Iran , not Egypt , not Greece , not Saudi Arabia

but only Turkiye in the region

3 -- Turkiye's defense Industry is reater than
Azerbaijan+Israel+Iran+Egypt+Greece combined

only Turkiye produces its own Aircraft Carrier , Destroyer , AIP Submarine , 5th gen Fighter Jet , Unmanned stealth Fighter Jet , Stand off Jammer Aircraft , etc in the region

4 -- Azerbaijan can not protect even Nakchivan , Turkiye protects Nakchivan

5 -- Turkiye is the country with the second-largest number of troops stationed abroad, after USA

Iraq , Syria , Libya , Cyprus , Qatar , Somalia and many more

6 -- In terms of population, Turkiye is 8.5 times larger than Azerbaijan.
Turkiye : 86 million
Azerbaijan : 10 million

7 -- Türkiye's surface area is approximately 9 times that of Azerbaijan
Turkiye : 783.562 km²
Azerbaijan : 86.600 km²

8 -- Azerbaijan is landlocked , lacking direct access to oceans or open seas
and Azerbaijan relies on Türkiye as a primary gateway and the most secure logistics hub for connecting to the rest of the world.

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Oil Pipeline
TANAP (Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline)
Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) Railway and the Middle Corridor

9 -- Azerbaijan does not have a political equivalent anywhere else in the world.
Türkiye’s power and influence in global politics lie precisely at the intersection of the definitions of a "regional power" and it possesses sufficient weight within its own geography and the surrounding regions to alter, disrupt or validate the strategic agendas of global actor

10 -- Azerbaijan has no strategic importance in the world.
Türkiye's strategic importance in the world centers on its unique position as a transcontinental bridge and a critical geopolitical balancer at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa

--------------------------------------------------------------------

When it comes to statecraft you can't look at it from how you feel personally.

Let me give you an example, the Chinese communists are committing a genocide and occupation of our Uygur Muslim brothers. They have been put under the most evil of oppression you can think of. However i do not hold this against nations who have political dealings with them like Pakistan. Pakistan needs that relationship, they have 1.4 trillion India breathing down their necks among other issues. Its not reasonable that the nation of 260 million would risk her position to potentially engage in an unfruitful endeavour.

Like wise Turkiye is in NATO and we are connected to many western institutions despite those very same entities being responsible for the destruction and murder of Millions of Muslims. In the case of the USA every few years they bomb or invade another Muslim majority country.

Even Isreal can only do what she does because she has American support. But when i get people complaining about Turkiye's relationship in NATO, it wouldn't be wise for our state to be outside it. Not because its good inside it, but it would be worse outside it.

Even all this "animosity" with isreal, could we not have waited another 20 years until our airforce was up in the air, until our defence industry had truly reached the heights its capable of before becoming an "open" enemy of Isreal. Could we have not smiled at their faces for another 10 to 20 years before we were truly capable of dealing with them?

Instead we find ourselves in this ludicrous position where on the one hand were against Isreal while at the same time dependent on the USA supplying us fighter jet engines. Its pure insanity.

Now in the case of Azerbaijan, look at their geography. Russia to the North and Iran to their south, both nations are dangers facing Azerbaijan. Then to top it off Azerbaijan being seen as an extension of Turk power and influence meant that many westerners defacto sided with Russia's ally Armenia. If Azerbaijan were against Isreal, that would have meant the full political and economic weight of the USA would have landed on Azerbaijan during her recent war. That would have meant that America, EU, Russia, Iran would have been against her.

The point im making is that its foolish for Turkiye to think that Azerbaijan cannot have good relations with Isreal. If you chase that path you will force Azerbaijan to confront Turkiye.

The reality is Azerbaijan needs good relations with Isreal, but this doesnt mean they will allow themselves to be used to undermine Turkiye. The only real way you can decouple Azerbaijan from Isreal is to have significant military power that regionally no one would dare challenge you.

I pointed out a similar cause with Saudi, only way you can decouple them from the USA is for them to have a viable security alternative. Only way us Turks can separate from the "white man alliance" is also to have a viable security alliance.

If Muslims want to succeed in the long run, all nations have to work to move towards each other without doing anything that could plunge their nations prospects. Now you get 10 Muslim nations allied in a robust manner and all global issues confronting Muslims in terms of them being stepped on by non-Muslims can be resolved.

Pakistan is dependent on China as its sole benefactor post cold war that has a veto at the UN and supplies it with weapons against India which it also sees as an enemy. The Azerbaijan situation is different, Azerbaijan is not dependent on Israel. That is Aliyev's own triangulation to not be reliant on Turkey. He uses Israel as a balance to not have dependency on Turkey.

If the US attacks Iran, Erdogan should invade Azerbaijan for the Anschluss.

Thats 1 Israeli satelite state less in the region.

If they decide to take Iran, we should take Azerbaidjan from them.

Remember; Azerbaidjan is now the Guatemala of our region - extreme pro-Israel and extreme pro-Western.

I dont think its case of "balancing between Turkey and Israel" anymore.

Its the case of the Mecca Pact.

After the signing of these Pact:

- SA got attacked by the Houthis
- Turkey gets problems with Azerbaidjan
- Taliban combines forces witg TTP against Pakistan
