US Political News and Views

Come on, man. I could play the same game with Alex Jones. The guy pushed the claim that 9/11 was an inside job. But I don't go around pretending he speaks for all Republicans.

So why should Hasan be treated as the spokesperson for all Democrats? The guy spends a good chunk of his time criticizing what he calls corporate Democrats. He has influence with a relatively small progressive wing, but turning him into the poster child for the entire Democratic Party just isn't based on reality.
Can you show me examples of prominent Democrats, outside of the final days of the election campaign, denouncing Piker?

Piker is absolutely saying the quiet parts out loud. Further, I find it hilarious his criticism of "corporate Democrats" when he himself is reportedly worth $34M.

Mainstream Democrats are deathly afraid of Piker and the rest of the DSA wing of the party.

A real quote about the DSA from Reddit:
Dsa is so far the most successful socialist organization in the US. But we are still in our infancy. Even though we’ve won some high profile elections we still don’t have the power to make real systemic changes. For example, Zohran is mayor but he’s surrounded by a hostile city council, a hostile state government, hostile federal government, hostile DA, and a straight up mutinous NYPD that has a good chance of assassinating him. We need to expand and build a foundation of institutional power and expertise to support our electeds.

He is an excellent communicator and steadfast in his convictions. I hope he wins but he has been the target of brutal attacks for being a Muslim.
That's all the Republicans seem to be able to do is promote fear, fear and more fear towards the end of the campaign..
.
It's all about culture war b******* and to be fair, Democrats do that too, but not even close to how the Republicans do it

Going to have to disagree here.

Democrats IMO have long been the masters of identity politics. Obama was outstanding in that regard and Hillary was no stranger to it either.

When Republicans play by the Democrat playbook, well, this is the response you get.

Going to have to disagree with you, I did say that Democrats play the same game, just the Republicans seem to do it better

Example being calling el Syed a jihadist, or saying he would have to go through a metal detector if he got into the Senate.

That kind of garbage is designed to tap into the interferes of people.

It's also trying to distract from the hurt people are going through via the economy etc etc.
.
Put on Fox News at any given time today and all you'll see is the Muslim brotherhood the Muslim brotherhood the Muslim brotherhood..

Not talk about the price of gas or diesel or food causes etc etc

Well, there's only one true way this is going to get fixed. And I'm not going to hold my breath any.
