now that's something tough to fix, unfortunately the easiest way to buy voters is through money, which regularly happens in Pakistan in every election. People even vote for you if u offer them a plate of chicken Biryani, lol.
Tunnel vision is another culprit where people only look at their little self-interest and not at the wider picture or vision
unfortunately the implosion of social media has destroyed whatever was left....

Latest Crazy Bernie rants:

- free college
- universal free health care
- guaranteed government job

All to be paid for by billionaires. Not quite sure how that's going to work but by golly, the youth are sucking that **** up like there is no tomorrow.

Excellent. This is a winning message and much better than eternal wars and tax cuts for the rich. The public is ready for it.

no kidding, if i was offered all that in America, i'd vote for Bernie!
Who doesn't love a free college, free healthcare and a Govt Job with Pension and job security for life.

Which way are all those unions voting? That itself is a big number of votes when u count all the families.......i'm also a union member(ATU) here and when unions decide to swing one way or the other, its a hell of a lot of votes

It's funny. When the argument is of benefit to Democrats, it's a crisis that must be investigated, or for the social good, or humanitarian purposes, etc.

When the argument goes against the Democrats, it is ALWAYS a manufactured crisis. The best example I can draw at the moment is from Trump's first term regarding illegal immigration. Right after the President's speech, Schumer and Pelosi were in front of the cameras declaring the issue to be a "manufactured crisis".

In principle, the ideas have merit. The reality is who is going to pay for it all? I assure you that you don't have to be a self-anointed economic genius like a couple of people here to understand that if you confiscate ALL of the wealth of the billionaires, it would not make a dent in the mess this country is in nor would it pay for all the free stuff Crazy Bernie pushes for for more than a few days.

Oh! Before I forget, among his rants is universal child care and universal school lunch programs, etc.

Maybe, just maybe, if we did away with the amount of foreign aide, some of that could be redirected to the issues here at home.

I am old enough to remember when LBJ announced his Great War on Poverty. Well, here we are, 60 years later, and we still have hungry people and people living in the streets.

Why?

I'm sure going after Trump will please a section of the base, but the Progressives and Socialists fighting a rearguard attack on establishment Democrats have their own agenda, which includes a slew of social programs they want to implement. They will need to be mollified if they want to go after Trump. But they shouldn't overplay their hand. Spending two years going after Trump; otherwise, 2028 can get difficult for them.
