Makkah Defence Alliance: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

There is a disconnect between the expectations of the military pact and the capability of the countries of the Makkah pact to deliver on those commitments. For Pakistan, given the threat it faces from India, can it afford to send more PAF squadrons to Saudi or Türkiye ? Obviously the answer is no, right ? There is already one squadron of JF17s in Saudi and that is it otherwise a capability gap arises against India...

Both Türkiye and Saudi have the money to purchase new aircraft but lack the capability, or have very very long extended timelines on delivery(F16s for Türkiye and F35 for both Türkiye and F35 ).

Pakistan has very quick delivery pipelines from its own JF17C manufacturing line, and rapid delivery of J-10CE's and J-35 from China once the cash is sorted out.

The solution to reconnect the disconnect between the expectations of the military pact and the capability of the countries of the Makkah pact is for the countries to fund a "expeditionary force" of 4-5 squadrons of fighter aircraft that can be rapidly deployed in theatre under joint command. This will also need transport as you suggest, and mobile AD force to protect them on the ground and AEW&C aircraft etc... The cost to Türkiye and Saudi is small relative to the capability it brings to offset the current limitations in the respective air forces of Türkiye and Saudi against Israel/Greece combo etc.

I don't see this happening unfortunately and as such the Makkah pact is more of a paper weight given that it cannot address the military threat matrix the pact faces. ( IMHO ).
You can call that a joint rapid deployment force with Separate command system....it shall ideally include army and navy not just air force.

I checked the defence budgets of the Mecca Defence Pact countries according to Global Firepower rankings. Saudi Arabia has a defence budget of approximately $63 billion, Turkey $51 billion, and Pakistan $9 billion, bringing their combined total to around $123 billion.

India, on the other hand, has a defence budget of $109 billion. And as the Indian economy continues to expand, its capacity to spend on defence will also increase.

According to the IMF's October 2026 World Economic Outlook projections, India's nominal GDP is projected to grow from approximately $4.06 trillion in 2026 to $6.74 trillion by 2031. At that level, even allocating just 2% of GDP to defence would amount to approximately $135 billion annually. If strategic circumstances demanded a higher allocation of 4% of GDP, India's annual defence budget wll reach approximately $270 billion.

In other words, India's growing economic strength gives it considerable scope to expand its defence spending over the coming years. The combined defence budget of the three Mecca Pact countries is not an insurmountable financial advantage.

hello Belgian Rakesh,
nice of you to gloat on india again and trying to put this Makkah pact down and trying to show Pakistan as weak and vulnerable........clearly u have no idea what happened in May 2025.......or you don't wanna acknowledge.......

I have a pretty good idea of what happened between India and Pakistan in May 2025. However, since this is a Pakistani forum, I'm choosing to respect the sentiments of the average Pakistani rather than turn this into an argument. If accepting that India was defeated and bombed by Pakistan during the May conflict makes you happy, I'm perfectly willing to let you have that satisfaction. I don't need to argue about it here.

India is irrelevant in this entire discussion. This thread and discussion is about Mecca pact. India doesn't even figure anywhere in the Mecca pact.

On top of that, India is a Hindu majority country. The Mecca pact members are Muslim majority nations. Again, India is completely irrelevant in this entire discussion.

The Mecca pact is formidable. A nuclear power, a tech powerhouse and an oil rich Saudia Arabia cannot be taken lightly. All complementing each other.

If we talk about India, it belongs in the Epstein bloc. What happened to mighty IMEC? You are in no position to make comparisons.

How? As Pakistan's premier adversary, India cannot be declared as irrelevant to this discussion.

India Pakistan conflict is a separate issue. Which will be decided on the battlefield between both sides. No amount of pacts can change this reality. No other country nor pact will ever intervene in this conflict.

The agreement does not explicitly state that Indo-Pak conflict is exempt from the pact.

Such a toothless paper pact would not be signed much less entertained by Pakistan.

$109 billion spent on defence yet india still remains a sh*thole country and military that was resoundingly defeated by Pakistan with several french-made rafale jets shot and india not being able to do ANYTHING about it.....................there is a REASON why sh*thole india is completely irrelevant on the world stage now and why the rest of the world mocks and ridicules india and indians.......:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Actually Pakistanis & PAF really do need this capability of these types of aircraft
the PLA Y-20/Y-20e (e=export version) these heavy lift planes can carry 66 tons and range of 4,500KMs. They can be used for internal Pakistani natural disasters? If you get into a long prolong conflict with INdia. these heavy lift aircraft will be required to carry the heavy loads, etc from allies from far way places. Back to Pakistan C130 will not do.

Time will tell. Of course all nations in the Mecca pact are bound to help each other in times of conflict. No doubt that Türkiye and KSA will always come to Pakistan's aid versus India. Troops on the ground in such a conflict is something else.

PLA Y20 is larger & more capable. But also more expensive as well I agree . Keep c130s is a great aircraft for short, rough runaways. For military size of Pakistan not to have a heavy lift aircraft’s in its fleet is just ridiculous

They're replaced by drones, missiles, SOWs etc.. And, the more entwinement b/w the Turkish and Pak MICs the more robotic non-contact warfare capability to have an asymmetric advantage over the enemies. As for the enemies, if they lose a single folk they get into a mental paralysis through repeated panic attacks, for they assume that their entire nations have died too! For them, death = defeat and life = victory...

*A country with 1.4b folks lets go 2K km2 of her land after losing 20 soldiers! And, she grounded her 4th largest AF after losing 8 a/cs! The Ukraine War has already seen 500K causalities, still they're not giving up.

Army is not the urgent requirement for anyone of the members at this point in time and would be a waste of money. The real issue is not manpower, it is technology. Airforce technology in particular for both Saudi and Turkiye.
