That is a strawman argument, that Iran launched an attack with almost 350 missiles and drones, hoping most of them would be intercepted and not cause any harm to civilians.
Meaning Iran had more faith in Israeli air defences than its own missiles ?

Instead of lobbing missiles at multiple (5?) cities and over a 5-hour period, Iran should concentrate on just one and over a period of one hour. Lob a few at the intercepting US and British bases to keep them at bay and thinking.
