I'm all for free speech - but why does our state allow explicit pro-terrorist propaganda via universities/journalists/activists??

f we propose any form of censorship against speech and/or expression then we do not understand what freedom of speech entails and why it is the corner stone of any civilized and progressive society. Censorship is a draconian method of oppression guised as righteous and necessary. In reality it is a tool for the emotionally immature and insecure to quash dissenting ideas. Freedom of speech and expression is sacrosanct, unless it directly proposes violence and/or harassment. She has done neither, at least not in the tweets you have posted.
Pakistan's literacy rate is 55%, awaam is literally jaahil. Even most of our so called elite is unable to exercise critical thinking skills.

Anyone can come, give a good sounding speech with half-truths, and instigate riots and terrorist attacks. Afghani and Indian twitter warriors have realised this. Nationalist Socialist terror groups have also realised it.

Mahrang is the next Malala; While Malala is sipping drinks with Hilary Clinton, Mahrang is already sipping drinks with EU officials, and may well soon be elevated to Clinton levels of prominence.

Look at individuals like Nida Kirmani (and other social media activists/journalists/"human rights" orgs) her open praise for terrorist groups, justification for the slaughter of innocents - she has access to universities and coming generations to corrupt their minds to hate themselves and their own country.

I am all for free speech, but this type of obviously harmful activity should not be tolerated. Watching on as you are destabilised due to some principle trying to prove a point is just cringe manic behaviour.

I literally saw a teacher in Islamabad calling TTP as oppressed and saying she taught this to her students. One of her argument was that TTP operations were to rob local people's homes LOL

Solution:

- Pass laws criminalising spreading propaganda in favour of outlawed terrorist groups.

- Ban international 'human rights' bodies from operating who are politically motivated.

- Strict surveillance on these wannabe Journalists/activists

Awaam is 100% jahil, illiterate, pendu. And so is leadership.

I have come to terms that most Pakistanis are straight idiots and they are also in the position they are in because they don't care. Little food on table they will tolerate being backwards nation and humilated.

The Europeans and Americans have a long term plan for Pakistan. You can already see what that long term plan looks like. Years ago the American and European think tanks used to openly debate how to control Pakistan. One of the most popular options was to use the ethnic faultlines. It is coming into play now.

The Pakistani army is okay with this plan.

55% literacy rate is abysmal. And of those who are literate, the standard of literacy is merely writing your name on a chalkboard.

So the real proportion of Pakistanis with a half decent quality education is probably close to 40%, surely much lower in interior Sindh.

The bastards in power are still not happy, though, and are busy hunting down the handful of schools who can produce statesmen capable of running a massive country like Pakistan. Just look at the Aitchison fiasco.

They just want us to be brainwashed drones chanting to the tunes of PTI, PMLN, PPP, Sunni, Shia, Kafir, Muhajir, Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashtun, Baloch...

What can be done when at a district and village level these idiot feudals would rather die than allow their peasant subjects to be educated.

Feudal system is one of the things fuelling Baloch nationalist-socialist insurgency. That's why PhDs are blowing themselves up to kill who they have been brainwashed by ***** commie propaganda into thinking are agents of feudals, but in reality are just innocent civilians trying to develop Balochistan.

What a shit load of crap. Its so easy to call entire nation as "Jahil". Then by that measure you too are a Jahil. No ? Nation has eyes & ears. Nation knows what's good for them and what's not.

I don't understand there are still few Low IQs who still believe that hilarious 5th generation warfare BS.

I mean you f--king rob the country day in day out. You make international chains in the US, You live retired lives with luxury, you buy islands, you crush political parties with brute force, you kill journalists, you abduct them without any regard of law. you destroy businesses of anyone you don;t like, You do a whole f--king regime change, you steal the entire nation's mandate, you abduct children of judges, you snatch lands and if people only raise voice you call them traitors.

Only teenagers with immature mind believe in such things. I myself believed in all that crap for decades maybe untill 2010.

As far as Malala is concerned. Your own lovely army created her. It was Army's idea to raise awareness against TTP using her. When she was shot (?), it was actually army which rescued her. She was first treated in Army hospital. It was Army doctors who attended to her. So if she was fu-king conspiracy against holly land of Pakistan then grab Army from the neck because it was their brain child. You equating Malala to Mahrang means that Mahrang is also Army's job ?? I don't think so. Mahrang is only asking the state to ease the pain of people of Balochistan. Just tell if those missing persons are dead. As mothers are on their death bed, waiting for this children to come home for their entire lives. Your problem is you don't see this wrong. Even if some of those people were terrorists why the state is hiding it?? State must openly admit that these people were terrorists and were killed in action. end of story. You are hiding it because you know you're stone cold criminals and have killed innocent people as well.

What have I robbed you imbecile? You are sitting in the comforts of canada and being a coward keyboard warrior. I pay more taxes than your extended blooldine combined. My city Karachi pays more taxes than all of Punjab and KP combined. This is despite the "paris of the east" being bombed and looted to the stone age on the orders of politicians sitting in interior Sindh and Punjab. Now even a sh!thole like Bombay where 64% of people live in slums is ahead of Karachi in GDP and GDP per capita.

She was given treatment in Army hospital like every other child shot by Taliban. Only difference is Americans made a huge drama for her.

Are you seriously suggesting Pak Army should leave civilian children to bleed to death? You've gone insane. Are you from one of those canadian cities which legalised every drug? Explains the deranged lines of thought.

Who is me? My own friends and their families have been murdered by BLA terrorists, and some obese marxist keyboard warrior sitting in Canada is lecturing me about morals.

Why don't I take you to some BLA infested B area, you will not last 1 day without being kidnapped and beheaded by your BLA comrades. Your last words will be "But Phul sapport saar!"

This is precisely why we need to protect freedom of speech. The aim is not protection for propaganda. It is to protect the righteous voice that is week. Any dissenting statement can only be of 3 different kinds; false, true, or partly false/true. Any dissenter can only be of 2 kinds; powerful or week against its opposition. Without any protection for speech and expression we get the below game theory diagram:

1) If the statement is true and the dissenter is powerful, the dissenter will win. Truth wins.
2) If the statement is false and the dissenter is week, the dissenter will lose. Truth wins.

However,

3) If the statement is true and the dissenter is week, he will lose. Falsehood wins. This is exactly the man and speech which must be protected. Not for himself, but for the benefit of his society. Human history is choke full of week righteous dissenters who were either snuffed out or subjected to horrendous atrocities by the powerful in the guise of censorship of the supposed falsehood. In a society without protection of speech, such as ours, the powerful are always "true" and the week are always "false". When you afford the truth protection the dissenter becomes the catalyst for change and the source of education for the illiterate. He/she provides the critical thought for all the rest. All successful/prosperous societies are built upon these few men and women, from Prophets to scientists to social reformists. No society has ever been anything otherwise. The entire west was illiterate when they rose.

4) If the statement is false and the dissenter is powerful, the dissenter will win. Falsehood wins. Unless, you protect his/her righteous week opposers. Then the situation turns into No.3 above.

5) & 6) If the statement is partly true/false, the dissenter will win if he is powerful and lose if he is week. In both situations the society will lose the part that is true. Unless you protect all voices and let them duke it out, which will eventually sift out the false and keep the truth.

Falsehood has no future if the truth opposing it is protected. Truth, by its nature, has no fear of falsehood, no matter how competent the propagandist might be. You have examples of all of the above throughout our own past. Since no falsehood ever believes or accepts itself to be false who decides what to censor? Do we leave it to the powerful? The majority? Maybe @CynicalPakistaniCritic? How do we know that they are true? Instead, you protect all voices, run them against each other, and let the discourse take its natural course. What will be left will usually be the truth. If it is not, then at least it will be the will of the people which will continue to generate righteous dissenters until they change the will of the people. To summarize, it is far more pertinent to protect the truth than to punish the false. The truth will take care of the false as long as it is protected against the powerful, even if that means protecting the false along side it.

ps: Protection does not mean support.

don't care

Like I said, emotionally immature and insecure.

Regardless, thank you for proving my argument that debate beats censorship.

I said so, because there was a conspiracy especially in Pakistan that Malala wasn't even shot. It was all drama. So if it was a drama then Army were the actors. As they treated her in army hospital after the attack and then when she was in comma was transferred to the UK. So in that case I said so that army was involved in the conspiracy (if at all). But if you believe that she truly was shot then whatever I said does not apply.

However, army generals of the time, even the COAS appreciated her bravery and it was all obvious that army was supporting her. So if you guys think that she was a conspiracy then you must include Army in it too.

Don't change the topic. I am talking about the missing persons. Why on earth the state / army do not tell the nation that these people were terrorists and these are the proofs and they were shot down. End of story. No one will sympathize with them. But when you don't say a word then it shows your crimes. It shows that innocent people are killed and that's why state is hiding it. Its that simple. I will fully condemn those missing persons if state today tells that these were terrorists and were killed in operation. Why such thing is not happening????

When terrorism started in Pakistan, we all called for anti terrorism laws for a decade, to destroy terrorist funding, literature, sponsors, symphathisers, the people who gave fatwas but nothing was done, what could be the reason? No PDF analyst can answer this question.

When finally anti terrorism courts were established, they were used to prosecute political opponents and the innocent, the terrorist and their symphathisers are still out there, receiving chanda, building maddrassas, they may have become alot more moderate because they couldn't defeat Pakistan so changed their tactics, their symphathisers are in powerful positions in our state so they always protect their own.

The bans and laws you are calling for will be used against the normal people. Its unfortunate how this is all happening, either we have corrupt and useless as leadership or traitors.

I challenge the generals to oppose the Asma Jahangir conference being held in Pakistan right now. The generals are being named and shamed for their treacherous behaviour in broad daylight. Yet, not a single general will dare to speak up. Where are the champions of anti-state propaganda?

Many of us have figured out these pathetic generals real good. They are excellent in jailing innocent party workers and banning certain political leaders. That is well within their reach.

We also know now how afraid these generals are when the US and Western nations show the stick. That is the reality of these generals.

This lady Asma Jahangir was given civilian medals by the Pakistani state for her work, she criticised army for a long time and was hated for it but if she is working for the western interests then so are others. I personally have nothing bad to say about her, when we can't criticise the powerful then why should we go after this lady.

It turns out that Asma Jahangir was at least correct about the generals. Asma Jahangir also had different agendas. She was indeed on the payroll of Western countries.
