Ok, if they did it on their side of the border, then that’s not too bad.

I dont understand why President RAISI travel with 30 year old BELL 212 Helicopter instead of MI-171

Because Iranian old guard don’t like to follow operational security

The BELL-212 Helicopter is just certified for VFR (visual only) flight,

Not true

and can only accommodate 6 passengers.

There were 2 other helicopters in bad weather and poor visibility. And helicopters in such weather should keep their distance from each other.

Notice the difference: clear skies, high altitude, and not a desolate mountain terrain.

Flying in a helicopter is stupid in such weather especially in formidable terrain. Wether MI-17 VIP or standard, doesn’t matter, you shouldn’t do it unless you are special forces or a soldier on a mission. Not a head of state visiting local villages.

How come radars do not follow the flight route and the Helicopter wjich carry President of Iran ?

That’s not how radar works.

If radar ground station is at sea level (ie much lower) it cannot track an object heading over a mountain range. Do you think radar is magic and it just penetrates Earth terrain?

The only way a radar could continuously track the helicopter would be

A) Radar station is also elevated on top of the mountain

B) OTH radar that is bouncing radar waves off the ionosphere down to the target

C) Helicopter is flying at much higher altitude than normal - but with Bell 212 max altitude is a mere <13,000 ft compare this to MI-17 at 20,000 ft

Haha this guy, along with the rest of the ruling crooks in Tehran and Qom, was a kattar Shi'i from the ithna asharis, among whose major foundational beliefs is that the Quran has been changed, distorted, corrupted and is no longer the word of Allah the most high. Before going out with a bang, he did a number on you at least
Did they teach you this bullshit in Wahhabi schools?

I have friends who are Shia, Sunni, Deobandi, Barelvi, Wahhabi, Ahl e Hadees etc and trust me there is one thing which is common amoung all of them, i.e. they all have many wrong beliefs about others which actually didn't exists.

Sorry this is off-topic but with all respect i think it's better if we don't go for religious discussion in this thread.

at least 6 out of the 9 deceased were seyeds/sadat. Is there an over-represantion of seyeds/sadats in Iran when it comes to wealth and important positions?
I do not understand what you mean.

If you live in Iran or are Iranian, you should know that the number of Sayyids in Iran is very high.

According to statistics, about 7 million people in Iran are Sayyid.

A lot more people are descended from the Prophet through their mothers, who are not called Sayyid, but they are also descended from the Prophet.

Helicopter’s do not typically have ‘black boxes’.

you can buy Flight data recorder and manager for Bell 212

Bell212-mcp.jpg

though even if that Bell 212 raisi was using had one, they are not built like "Plane black boxes" (only minimal fire resistance) and if the entire helicopter burns down (like in this case) the data would be lost too.

What implications will this event have on future transport method of Iranian VIPs?

Will the Iranian government finally use more modern helicopters such as mi-38 with IRGC escort?

While the investigation of the cause of crash is underway, Someone mentioned here that Bell 212 wasn't even approved for flight during bad weather.

Mi-171 is more reliable then mi-38 and putin uses them too instead of mi-38

i already pointed out in previous post that usually the president used a Mi-171

Bell 212 was mostly used by local governors (lower officials)

it was a mistake to put the president into that helicopter (heads should roll)

63% of Iranian voters voted to president Ebrahim Raisi, 49% practiced in elections and 30% of total Iranian population [over 18 age] voted to president Ebrahim Raisi

PS. 2020 was one the worst years of covid-19 epidemic despite that 49% of people over 18 age practiced in presidential elections
