Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

you can buy Flight data recorder and manager for Bell 212

Bell212-mcp.jpg

though even if that Bell 212 raisi was using had one, they are not built like "Plane black boxes" (only minimal fire resistance) and if the entire helicopter burns down (like in this case) the data would be lost too.

However, that probably wont stop Iran from finding a cause. Of this terrible crash. For civilian helicopters it is the Cost and extra weight is always key factor for businesses not to fit them and are not required to do so.. Coming back to Bell products on the market , is an American company and Iran being under sanctions Bell can not do any business with Tehran from selling or advising or anyone else.

Exactly. It’s not like they can’t afford to buy a half dozen helicopters for VVIPs from Russia.

Have you stopped to think that maybe it isn't money which is stopping Russia from giving those choppers to Iran?

Russia is under more sanctions than Iran and Russia has ramped up arms production. Iran also has a decent amount of money. What reason is left that Iran can’t get a few modern helicopters?

So Iran has money, so it can't be that, so you basically refuted yourself.

And you expect Russia to produce helicopters for Iran, when resources are needed for a proxy war with Nato?! Also sanctions don't necessarily stop a nation like Russia or China dancing along to western diplomatic tunes if it finds benefit from it.

Inna LILLAH e wa Inna ELLAIH e raji’oon

May ALLAH reward their souls with Maghfira & Sabar to their loved ones.

Condolences to Iranian members here & the Iranian nation at large.

I am afraid Russia Phobia of selling stuff to its ally Tehran goes back years. Ukraine/ Russian war is recent I am talking about decades here Moscow not helping Tehran in its requests to Moscow?

no transmit the footage when they are in line of sight, if they saw anything in that footage feed it another flight plan to do a closer look

The problem is due to low visibility drone would have to do a 10,000 foot scan which means multiple fly overs in a 10KM+ by 7KM wide zone. If drones could be at 30,000 feet then it would be easier flight paths that scan a large area.

The main issue was Iran had no idea where in that zone the president was.

Same reason the Supreme Leader gets his prostate cancer surgery in a state hospital. This mentality of trying to be “one” with the commoner gets too many officials killed.

That means no expensive helicopters, no expensive escorts, etc etc. and disregard for operational security and safety.

And you see the result.

All the people who were in the helicopter:

This is a dumb decision to fly without z+ security for a president of a country who is in war with a tech advanced enemy.
There must be two helicopters flying with president lessing with missiles and commandos to secure him from any arial and land threat.
But it took long hours to find even the crash site just bcz there was no one flying around to secure him.

Right, so it's not anything to do with affording or money, as the "think tank" was insinuating. I personally believe Russia and China have been desperate to get back into the western clique deep down right until the Ukraine war happened. The thing is Russia and Iran have only very recently been termed as "allies". Before that they were merely regional partners, and before that they were enemies.
