Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

Same reason the Supreme Leader gets his prostate cancer surgery in a state hospital. This mentality of trying to be “one” with the commoner gets too many officials killed.

That means no expensive helicopters, no expensive escorts, etc etc. and disregard for operational security and safety.

And you see the result.
But it's more awam-faribi... theatre, meanwhile on the background corrupt officials are wiping out state funds.

Its time to move on.
we can't afford to lose time.
IRI is a system, the transfer of responsibilities was swift and we will have new president in 50 days from today.

’Hard Landing' report was an absolute understatement was not so accurate. RIP to victims

Indeed. I can totally understand all the initial information coming from Iranian officials since they didn't know and had to be very careful what they said until they found out more. So saying it was a hard landing takes pressure & speculation off of them while not being totally silent. The right thing to do in those circumstances IMO.

Remember GPS is control by USA and isreal..

Global Positioning Systems (GPS) & Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are owned and operated by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and used to be strictly a military technology until Reagan allowed it to be introduced into the civilian market. In no way are the zionist "owners" of any part of it.

And if you're implying that they can get secret intel from the US, not sure how that would've helped them in this case since all they had to do was go online and see the flightpaths and can only predict where it might be going before it actually goes there. In that case, it's of no benefit to a "sabotage" mission since that needs to be pre-planned. The only benefit would be in knowing where it is would be to target it and shoot it down which I highly doubt happened here.

Question: why does this X poster seem to think that "Türkiye is responsible for SAR missions in Iran"? Is there some treaty that we're not aware of? Just curious.

Did the Helicopter crash in Iran or Azerbaijan?

the moment iranian rescue workers found the crashed helicopter and the bodies of the martyred officials (not graphic)

he seems to have Azeri Iranian accent (this is near Tabriz after all). he is distraught and repeating ya hussein

this was much more than a hard landing, it was a total crash, there is almost nothing left of the helicopter

This is a dumb decision to fly without z+ security for a president of a country who is in war with a tech advanced enemy.

Commander in Chief of Armed Forces is Supreme Leader, not president.

Iran’s role of President is basically nerfed Prime Minister of sorts that has many checks on his power.

Im struggling to understand why you would have a 60+ year old helicopter pilot flying the president in the toughest conditions.

While his co-pilot was younger (late 40’s-early 50’s) it’s a bit strange to see such an older pilot still in charge of flying a challenging helicopter in challenging conditions.

Usually, retired army pilots go and work for different companies and organizations after finishing their work.
He was probably Raisi's pilot.and work for Presidental palace

Not strange at all. Air Force One pilots are full colonels and full colonels age ranges from mid 40s to late 50s. For VIPs, usually you want a senior aircraft commander backed up by an experienced co-pilot. The aircraft commander make final decisions regarding the entire mission. The co-pilot is actually the one who does the mechanical aspects of flying, aka 'stick actuator'. The co-pilot would be a command pilot in regular assignments.

You can hear the pain in the voice for sure when they find the helicopter.

So Iran has money, so it can't be that, so you basically refuted yourself.

And you expect Russia to produce helicopters for Iran, when resources are needed for a proxy war with Nato?! Also sanctions don't necessarily stop a nation like Russia or China dancing along to western diplomatic tunes if it finds benefit from it.
I didn’t refute myself, I gave a reason that Iran should have spend the money for the helicopters. I’m not sure why they didn’t take due care with their president’s safety.
