I think horse racing is cruelty.
Horses love to run. Dogs love to run.

The whip (crop) is barely a prick to them. The jockeys weight barely 40-45 kilos. Tiny ass guys.

The horse is a BIG animal. And they cost millions. The owners would take the crop to the jockeys happily were they to get remotely rough.

It is a noble sport. I disagree.

Cheers, Doc

At leisure when I return. Totally on target, Doc.

Sharing a beautiful Sufi parable as we enter 2024.

*The Sun and the Cave*
One day the Sun and a Cave struck up a conversation. The Sun had trouble understanding what “dark” meant and the Cave didn’t quite get the hang of “light and clear” so they decided to change places.

The Cave went up to the Sun and said, “Ah, I see, this is beyond wonderful. Now come down and see where I have been living.”

The Sun went down to the cave and said, “Gee, I don’t see any difference.”

When the sun went down, it took its light along and even the darkest corners were illuminated. That's why the Sun couldn't see any difference.

The enlightened ones can never be sent to hell or pushed into darkness. They carry their heaven on their shoulders all the time.

Perhaps heaven is also a state of mind we were supposed to achieve.

If you are illuminated like the Sun, then the darkness of the cave wouldn't matter. You could be in the worst of circumstances yet you'll still be able to find a blessing somewhere.

Trust you'll be carrying your Heaven with you in 2024.

What a wonderful parable.

Thank you, and a Happy New Year to you too.

there is always two different interpretations to a sufi saying, one for the public which they take it as they take it and the other for the enlightened.

how does the people from the 'creed' takes it, is not accepted in general public, it is not for them, so it is never discussed there.

it really is a beautiful parable simply expressed (that's what it is for) for people understanding to their limit of conscience.

Arch Hindu soft Sanghi.
Don't want to derail that thread, but really ?

What defines a soft sanghi ? Seems pretty apolitical to me, at least from what I've seen at his channel. He had an expert on aghoris on not too long ago, Dr Svoboda, and that wasn't a political conversation iirc, not that aghoris would be interested in such topics as politics anyway :P

I'm SO glad to know that you don't wish to derail the thread.
DO NOT spend another two posts amplifying your sincere desire not to derail the thread.
We will understand your need to be taciturn.

Still curious about what has led to you believing that Ranveer is a 'soft sanghi'.

I'm a soft sanghi, takes one to know one, and I found no evidence of him being from my unit.

Continue with your noble line of thought.

Ok please continue.

Made the mistake of starting to watch cricket again.

That too for our bowlers.

Give me my generation of the golden era anyday.

Cheers, Doc

Those guys, every one of them, played 500% for the country. With full heart. Fight. Even if lose. No sho sha. Family men. No actresses and models. No IPL ka gandh.

Its changed everywhere, look at the footballers, destroying their careers just to get the extra money, some talented footballers couldn't achieve their potential. India is still decent at cricket, can't say the same about Pakistan. West Indies was another amazing side but corruption and political interference destroyed their cricket.

West Indies I think also simply the money of premier pro athletics and American football and basketball. The rest turning to the thousand cricket banana leagues for quick cash and flashy lives.

Cheers, Doc
