Doctor's mindset

But what to do if a professional doctor's diagnosis is incorrect? How do I know that it was incorrect? Doctor 'diagnosed' it as disease 'A'. But my symptoms didn't match with disease 'A'. My symptoms matched with that of some other disease.
Simple. If you are not convinced regarding your diagnosis, get a second opinion.

It's simple maths

A brilliant ALTERNATIVE doctor can simple take 100 patients and do a simple randomized double blinded trial

If you believe in a treatment and can't even find 100 patients to do a simple randomized trial then I am sorry to say but you are Full of shit..

Shitty experience doesn't count just simple do a blinded study..

You believe in lemon juice, well do a study publish it, can anyone replicate it ? They should be ..

2+2 = 4 simple maths nothing rocket science here
Simple 2X2 Pearson chi square sum of scores and you get 95% predictability

And don't tell me this can't happen, Chinese malaria medication have similar local trials done and they were replicated
Dude I am really not sure what you want to say. Example Chiropractor are not consider Dr. anywhere but I trust them more than before going for spine surgery. Similarly I know many people had great success with ayurveda where even modern medicine failed. Issue is people don’t know which Ayurveda Dr to trust. Thisngs are getting better as large corporation style setup coming up so it is not individual anymore aamw as groups in western world.

Modern medicine and alternative can live together and complement each other and both have place.

Are you a google doctor? How can you be certain your symptoms match with some other disease? Online health websites provide a vast range of symptoms, with a lot of overlap. Search for anything and you will realise you have symptoms of it. They are all doing SEO optimization and want people to visit their site.
If you think one doctor's diagnosis is not correct, get a second or third opinion. Or even a 4th one. If you are still convinced that your self diagnosis is correct, then what are you waiting for? Get treatment for that disease

It is not so easy. What you say is correct for textbook diseases. I am not talking about textbook diseases. I am talking about undiscovered medical condition. In initial years the patient neither knows nor expects that he may be suffering from an undiscovered medical condition. He trusts doctors for a long time. During those years, he gets a hazy feeling like, "The doctors (diagnoses) are right but maybe they aren't getting some aspects of this disease." And then after some years that hazy feeling - the hazy feeling of diagnoses right but some aspects missing - becomes a conviction that it is an undiscovered medical condition and doctors were wrong.

I am saying that Greeks thought for a 1000 years that heavy objects fall faster based upon personal experience untill proven by experiment.

That is the whole summary of human civilization and applies everywhere including health care

Prove it with an experiment that something works.. otherwise it's all BS

Then first discover that disease by describing it and then applying your experiment to it

You are saying that the disease you have doesn't exist anywhere else that it can't be described or tested..?

If that's case how would a treatment work if the disease is unique to you and there are no other cases

Parkinson was described with only 25 patients in 1817

Are you saying it's so rare that you cant find 25 patients

You are saying that they can't do it today ????!!!!

In your example the recommendations are

1- physical therapy unless you have neurological deficits.. surgery can be offered for symptom relief if patient has exhausted all other avenues.

So are you going to go to chiropractor when you have early signs of paralysis or no is my question ..if yes then fine ..if no you are making no sense

Alternative medicine has to be evidence based not on personal experience

I have to concur with this assessment. Alternative medicine is complementary medicine - there is a reason we have diagnostic tests.

I think this is a problem in some countries.

Here in the UK it is very much patient focused care, or we are aiming for this.

This should be the aim really, but some alternative therapy is much of a muchness . Take homeopathic medicine for example 😂

Where I disagree is that there is one medicine only and that is evidence based medicine..

If a Hakeem new recipe works and he is evidence for that then that's evidence based medicine

Digoxin was a Hakeem recipe Intially, so were many sulphur based medications

Yes fully agree.

My problem is Hakeem will not provide any evidence..why?
Because Hakeem thinks it won't work in a trial and that he doesn't want to disprove his nuskha

A Hakeem things his sugar powder works for mardana kamzoori

Well then give 50 packets to one group and 50 to another double blind it(i.e you and patient doesn't know which one is real)

And see the results

You will see improvement in both groups (placebo effect) but if there is no more improvement in treatment group then your nuskha is bullshit

There are trials that physical therapy works better then back surgery(if no neurological deficits)

There are trials that counselling works as good as ssri/antidepressants

Now if Pakistani doctors don't follow evidence based medicine so that they can make money then that's a different problem ..
