Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

I think they were more responding to her than the other way round.

Her problems started as she had a vendetta to get everyone that was involved in any way with her father's death.

Her father was a great leader for independence but was a poor administrator and had dictatorial tendencies.

That is not a way to build a nation and get unity.

Even I am amazed by how quickly the BAL street cadres have melted away.

Without police protection - they have zero power and influence.

BAL was tolerated as long as it delivered economic growth, jobs and higher living standards.

For the last 4-5 years this has no longer been the case and so we needed a 'spark" and a mistake from Hasina to overthrow AL.

BD population on the whole never loved BAL but tolerated them as long as they delivered what I stated in my first sentence.

That is your political legacy (including Maulana Bhashani's pro-China stand, that so many people are channeling now without the slightest awareness about the Maulana's position on it decades ago).

It is difficult to understand why people ignore it; perhaps because they are simply not aware of it. He was born in 1920, and therefore lived through some of the most stirring moments of political developments in Bengal when he was a teen-aged activist, an aggressive Muslim League leader under Suhrawardy.
I don’t think people are ignoring it, it’s more of a case of ignorance. People still use slogans like “Action, action, direct action.” Most folks don’t know the history that Direct Action is associated with Suhrawardy . Mujib never transformed from an agitation protestor to an administrator. He always blamed everyone else within his government and party, the thought never occurred to him that he had no experience in running a nation or anything for that matter.

Some members always say that USA needs military base in Bangladesh.... but it does not make any strategic sense in having military base in Bangladesh against China.... Look at the map of BOB below

View attachment 58169

Bangladesh is situated at the top corner of BOB and having base there means USA is already chocked or cornered by China that sits on the southern port in Myanmar and also on coco islands of Burma.... In short US becomes blockade prone in Bangladesh....

It makes more sense for USA to ask India for a base either on mainland coast in TN or AP or Andaman Nicobar islands which is south to the Chinese base in Myanmar.... Here China will be chocked or cornered or become blockade prone during wartime as it will give more flexibility options to US to halt Chinese vessels that try to come out towards Indian ocean....

Having base in India will keep them closer to Diego Garcia which is very important for US during the time of war.... Bangladesh will take them far away from Diego Garcia and in the middle Chinese base will be an obstacle for their supplies and logistics...

India can ask US that in return any attack on India by China or Pakistan has to be taken care by USA... We should ask them for their ABM shield which they deploy in NATO countries for their protection.... US air force should be asked to dedicate few squadrons deployed in Ladakh, Arunachal, Kashmir and other north west India to handle any attack by PLAAF or PAF...

Aray Pappu G, you got it all wrong... this Bengali Spring was supported by the USA against the Indian puppet Hasina Regime...

It all started when India wanted to show the world (and more importantly its insecure Hindu nationalist voter base) that it is now an independent supa powa who doesn't have to side with China or the US, and that Hindus are no longer slaves of Muslim invaders. You know, the usual bhakt BS.

The first example of this was the Balakot strike. This backfired as it set a precedent for Pakistan using its conventional power to punish India for its transgressions.

The second example was picking fights with China. This backfired as India lost 1,500km of territory to China. Even in the Indo-Pak war of 1971 when Pakistan was engulfed in civil war, Pakistan had a net loss of about half as much territory to India in the same Ladakh sector.

The third example which sealed India's fate was a spree of murders of minority activists on Western and Pakistani soil. First we saw Pakistan's retaliation, which was predictably to turn up the heat in Kashmir, burn INS Brahmaputra to a crisp in Mumbai (per Indian media), etc.

The more interesting thing is the USA's retaliation against India. The US said, "India, you think you're an independent super power? Fine. We will no longer consider you an ally in our fight against China. We will take necessary steps to re establish our influence in the region."

It's started with a newfound indifference to Pakistan's support for Kashmiri fighters. Then, the Americans declared they would out-do Chinese investment in Pakistan.

Now, the US supported the "Bengali Spring." The Indian puppet regime was brought down in a bloody revolution, and replaced with a widely popular anti-India, pro-Pakistan/US govt. A Govt Led by the same man who told India he would not spare the Seven Sisters if India disrespected Bangladesh's sovereignty.

If anything, the US will probably give Pakistan some AIM-120Ds and F-16Vs to "fight the Taliban" again ;) ;)

So Haseena is still in India? Some people were speculating that she left for UK today?

I have a question to ask, did Haseena actually write in her book that she traveled to London with her daddy in 1968 and met with RAW officers and agreed that Bangladesh will become a separate country? If yes then is it not a conspiracy hatched 3 years prior to the general election of 1971? Apologise for being off topic so please reply briefly before we get back to the topic.
UK seems not willing to take her at this moment, but she submit visa request and processing will take weeks or months. Otherwise she may face huge protest around her house in UK, which UK govt don t want , UK govt already under fire for giving refuge to corrupts and wanted people.

UPDATE

BAL supporters and terrorists are extremely active in trying to re-instate Hasina with the help of India.

In Dhaka - the BAL loyalists judges tried to stage a judicial coup by declaring the new interim govt as illegal. Fortunately the student protesters got hold of it and immediately surrounded the court. Latest news as of now - Chief Justice (BAL Loyalist) along with other judges have submitted their resignation, due to the pressure of the students.

In Gopalganj - Hasina's own constituency - BAL thugs attacked army convoy. The army soldiers showed extreme restraint as they did not fire on the mob, as that could have sparked a civil war.

In Lalmonirhaat - local BAL leaders amassed around 300 people to get into India and create an international situation with the help of Indian media.

Also, In Dhaka and Chittagong - BAL thugs, Hindu BAL loyalists and Seculars combined held protests for "attacks on minority". This is nothing but India supported instigation to destabilize the people's government and reinstate Hasina.

I have debunked you many times before this.... no need to do same and same thing again and again..... it's us who increased after 1947 barring 62 loss of 38k Sq kms.... that too we compensated in the form of sikkim and Arunachal....

yes you surely lost entire eastern wing and guess what you couldn't do any wonders on your western front too by which you could have haulted Indian advance in east Pakistan.... here also only we reached to the outskirts of Lahore, bombarded karachi and what not?

Dude! Stop being partisan!

Apart from a few isolated cases -99% of BAL members and leaders know the game is up.

Stop trying to stir up division where there is none!

Yes! Hinduvta is trying to manufacture a civil war - but it will not work!

Not only are you detached from reality, you were Hasina loving for the longest time. I have no reason to listen to you.

There is an active conspiracy going on throughout the country. If you deny it, you are either naive or just another closet fascist.

BAL Loyalists within the army

Maj Gen Md Mahbubur Rashid

Journalist Zulkarnain Sami noted referencing a video that this particular general went against army protocol and was touching the feet of Sheikh Hasina to show his respect (this is something the Bengali culture inherited from Hindu past). Goes to show this individual is a party appointee and not worthy of wearing Bangladesh Army uniform.

This General is currently in charge of 55 Infantry division and it is his division's troops who were attacked by the BAL mob yesterday.

Journalist Sami opines that he has likely allowed the attack on his own troops happen, to create material for Indian media to spread more propaganda that people are against army and create chaos and destabilize Bangladesh to bring Hasina back.

Don’t be a conspiracy theorist!

I loved lots of stuff Hasina did and parted ways when she overstepped the mark. It’s called being rational and non partisan.

I loved lots of things she did including the persecution of the mullahs - who are a cancer. And Ofcourse the transformational infrastructure.

We need to stop the partisan bickering.

Your loyalty should be to Bangladesh not to any political party or leader.

Social Media Update - Additional Army troops being deployed to Gopalganj (not verified)
