Historically when these *nationalist* entities take hold of the government in european countries they end up introducing policies that lead to cross continental conflict.

Even the most recent war in Europe has its symptoms on the same trend (Euromaiden violence against Russian speakers, Azov taking hold of the military, Russian speakers being disenfranchised and the like).

Democracy is very much alive in Romania, unlike the hillbillies in the US, we won't allow Russian assets to run for public office.That guy will end up jail, where he belongs, Elon Musk and his cohorts of yankee right wing nutjobs can foam at the mouth ,but they can't do anything about it.

1933 was just the formative years. The ideology if you will, it wasnt until 39 that he ideology and its proponents gained the political wherewithal to implement their dastardly schemes.

In terms of political and economic upheaval protectionism can often metastasis and turn into nationalism, nationalism and xenophobia go hand in hand.

A most dangerous combination.

Because of Trump, that make quite sure Europe will not be far right for the next couple of decades, even the French are looking at it with a new light........
