Curious here sir, are you referring to Azam khan? Who I believe was his principal secretary, and if yes, could it be the reason why he hates him is because he got abducted by the establishment to force him into a an approver against khan? Ofcourse whatever I said could be wrong. Regards,
H
Not him - female.

But not abducted by estb.

Problem is that IK has rubbed off a lot of people due to his decisions based on stubbornness - a lot of people who saw the chance of real pragmatic change. And a lot more people with his willful ignorance and tacit approval of the Manekas and associated relatives misappropriation and abuse of position.

Does that absolve the establishment for its total bungling of everything then and prior to IK and more?
No, but that doesn’t mean IK is the right choice anymore… if there is a choice.

Discussions today however are now moving from “Who should rule Pakistan?” To “Why even have a Pakistan to get consensus on rule”

Thank you for indulging me sir, I have been passionately following you since 2010, since you were ‘Santro’ (we both have interest in cars) and got to know a lot from your wisdom and experience. I rarely post here hence my post count is low because I don’t want to talk for the sake of talking but if there is something g meaningful or I can contribute. On topic - imran khan is stubborn and headstrong, he could have done alot in my opinion as his ideas were never wrong it was just his advisors around him which makes me feel he gets manipulated easily or influenced if that is the right word. That being said I don’t think anybody is truly in love with khan besides the cultists as you put them aptly, but when Pakistanis such as myself look at sharifs and bhuttos with minus IQ even a faulty khan looks brilliant.

The Santro was alive and cared for me…I remember taking it through fully flooded Karachi streets with Buses and cars nearly floating and this thing kept boating along - apart from its utility and decent handling even if it looked like an ambulance , hence my love for it.

But appreciate the compliment.

IK is the “One eyed man is king” option but unfortunately he squandered it and any chance for Pakistans survival.

It wasn’t completely him, Bajwa and Co with their compromised statuses panicked too much when he made those stupid decisions starting with “absolutely not” to rubbing off CPEC vendors and then made it soo much worse.

All they had to do was to leave him alone and he would be out by next election but the micromanaging bungling control freaks in the establishment oligarchs along with the business, feudal elite simply think they are god’s gift to earth “Chosen ones” for Pakistan and have destroyed it in the process by deciding to remove him.

You brought an unstable new system not thinking it through and then kicked it while it was malfunctioning and it blew up in your face.

Just like you did in 65, 71 , post Afghan War, Kargil and now this.

And unfortunately, they all have their parachutes in place be it abroad or within walled forts in Pakistan while human misery will unfold in scale around them in the next 10 years.

I came to canada when I was 7 in 1999, so can’t relate to your experiences even though I have a few from Lahore, where I was born (Farooq Hospital Iqbal town). On topic - I think it was more of a case of the establishment of that era having shaky feet and giving up rather than Khans statements, as he has always proposed and extrapolated on the opinion that he was against war on terror, hence called ‘taliban khan’ so him saying ‘absolutely yes’ to drone attacks would have been socially suicide for him ( considering his past and trying to reinvent himself) the main issue at hand is the Pakistani at home being okay with nawaz sharif coming back to the country even though he has abandoned his countrymen more than once in the past. Just my two insignificant cents sir.

Seems like mods Oscar and X have been visited by the men in viggos… and gone over to the dark side..

Lol

No, I have always held on to my opinion. I don’t support any parties but I must confess that recently I have been slightly impressed with the new leader of Jamat-e-Islami despite disliking religious parties. The reason being that he is highlighting the core issues of common Pakistanis without targeting any specific cast or creed. I am looking to become a voter for a political party but don’t have one in sight and unlikely to vote for any parties from the current lot.

I criticise PTI but I have criticised the establishment even harsher. End of the day these are just opposing views and I appreciate PTI or Establishment for good things and criticise them for anything I dislike.

Oscar is very neutral in his assessment and criticizes both sides equally for their faults.

Imran Khan did not have experience of managing 50 people in a small company and they gifted him to run the whole country.
Who are “they”? Who gave “them” the power to decide this? Who did people of Pakistan vote for in general elections 2024?

Discussions today however are now moving from “Who should rule Pakistan?”
Why is this even a “discussion”? As per constitution of Pakistan - only people of Pakistan has the sole right to rule Pakistan - through the power of their vote on form 45 and not on form 47 by 🥾 👅

The establishment propped IK up otherwise he would not have won with the both rigged and actual supporters for N league from the largest province.

They realized very quickly he wasn’t the chosen one according to their lenses and was instead a loose canon when it came to many issues where a pragmatic approach was needed. Then they panicked again when IKs statements started getting them blowback(because they set the bar so low in the first place).

Only because you simply cannot let democracy run as it should

Who cares about the constitution?
It, the laws within it, the ECP and everything else is a facade to hide the gaping holes in the justification of the excesses by one institution and its associated elites.

So what I get from your very informative responses sir, and I would dare to say we can agree, is that that root of the issue at hand is, if I can call it that, that we have uneducated people making grand decisions which can and have affected the country policy as a whole? Reminds me of an uncle who came to my dads house in wapda town and when I praised Musharraf ( yes I totally did) he replied saying do you know how to operate an tank and when I said no, he replied rapidly by saying the people who do know they do not know about economy and and politics.

And then they rigged an entire general election of 2024 to make sure his party doesn’t get its fair share of vote. Always meddling in politics while claiming to be neutral. Duffers 🥾

Who cares about the constitution?
When Imran Khan’s govt was “constitutionally” removed by the duffers in regime change operation - that’s the only time when you “care” about it.
