I think you've misinterpreted this. Israel is fighting for its life because if it stopped fighting its citizenry would be slain en masse, not because Israel can't win.

Israelis won't be slain en masse if they learn to live as part of the region and treat Palestinians as equal. But I think that's asking for too much: Basic decency.
And, no, Israel cannot win a multifront prolonged war. Israel can bomb and kill and destroy but that's the true extent of Israel's military prowess, in addition to assassinations and sabotage.
