Israel will likely target the Iranian government directly to destroy them in addition to critical military and economic assets, with and without nukes. This will enable an overthrow of the Iranian government, which is what Israel has called for.

Iran is not going to win against a nuclear power country that is backed up by USA. It can damage Israel, but unless Iran also has nukes it’s at a major disadvantage.
This is pretty stupid approach in Iranian case, you cant even define what is the meaning to destroy "Iranian government"...what to destroy, who??? Building of the government? Elected administration?clerical elite? Generals from iri?regional leaders?parliament members?Pahlavi Prince in LA?(ok, this last was stupid)...Iran is so complex and multi-structured country, and every system has pros and cons, but one of ultimate advantage of Iranian system is that never depends on some persons that are hardly replaceable...we have case of Russia or Turkey...assassination of Putin could have dramatic, unforseen consequences for the nation, maybe even more than that... this is just imagined scenario to get the point, assassination here means nothing to real-world disruptions...

Well their resources were not that limited since Pakistan was the one which provided nuclear centrifuges and their blue prints(the same blue prints which AQ khan stole from the Dutch company he worked for - URENCO) and blue prints for Chinese atomic weapons,( that they tested in 1964)..In exchange for Ghauri missile.

Pakistan supplied nuclear centrifuges to Iran also but Iranians gave Pakistan up, when IAEA found traces of 90 percent enriched uranium in these centrifuges.

When IAEA threatened Iran with sactions because she broke her NPT obligations by enrich uranium up to 90 percent.

Iranians finally fessed up that these centrifuges came from Pakistan and weapons grade uranium traces found in them were Pakistan's.
Non sense. It was Gaddafi that gave Pakistan and Iran away. Iran had also assisted Libya to have access to Pakistani technology. His government gave up its whole nuclear program and sent the centrifugees to USA. They literally loaded evrything into a ship and sent them to America under IAEA pressure.

This non sense being parroted that Iran gave Pakistan away is an other lie of recent history.

Wonder if dollar generals have the guts to make it clear that any use of nuclear weapons against Iran will result in Pak nuclear retaliation .
Gutsy as Egypt's neo-mameluk hunta...

I mean who on earth would do such a thing after seeing what Israel is doing?

Well Iran’s FM landed in Lebanon yesterday. Their seems to be the thinking that “it won’t happen to Me” (ie. Targeted by Israel) in Iranian circles.

I don’t put credence in the reports. And if Iran gets caught hiding such a high profile death it wouldn’t be good after all the statements they made in last 48 hours about responding to any Israeli strike.

Hi. What is the mood in Iran like right now? Are you guys preparing for an Israeli/American counter attack?

There were reports that Guru Nasrallah's body was undamaged and that the shockwave was the cause of death.
There is no way to verify this, but it is true that shock waves pose a threat underground.
In dense ground, shock waves travel many times farther than in air, so that when a 1-ton bomb explodes underground, the maximum radius of instant death caused by the shock wave is 200 meters or more.
For this reason, underground facilities are not safe at all from bunker busters, which can destroy deep inside with extreme ease.
To withstand a bunker buster attack, it is necessary to dig a long lateral tunnel in the mountains more than 500 meters deep underground.
To some extent, it is unavoidable that Hezbollah could not provide a sufficient number of tunnels in the mountains and had to dig them under the city.
Unless the facilities are very solid, tunnels in the mountains can be easily attacked and destroyed very easily because there are no civilians around.
Attack is the best defense.
The idea of defending and winning is not realistic.

Some are saying the earthquake in Iran is indicative of a nuclear test. What do you guys think ?
