Zhuhai Airshow 2024

As it seems, "the world's first 6-ton tiltrotor UAV Lanying (镧影) R6000 will be unveiled at this year's Zhuhai Airshow." (via by78/SDF)
China's current drone industry chain is very well developed, and many companies utilize these drone industry chain to design and manufacture a wide variety of drones. They hope to obtain orders from PLA or overseas customers. So there is so much news about them that I am numb to it .................

However, very few companies and products have actually survived. The vast majority of these companies don't possess any core technology, they just like to create all kinds of business gimmicks. The companies that do have core technologies rarely publicize their products to the outside world.
For example: Tengdun, we only know about their product when it has been selected by PLA. He is a private company.

冒昧的问一句,楼主是原论坛中国区经常更新解放军图片的up吗?

I'm looking forward to seeing a prototype of the R6000, maybe just a mockup?

No.
I did access PDFs a lot early on. But in the old PDF era, I never made any remarks. I only recently had the time and energy to post on the new version of the PDF.
I don't know English at all. Posting on PDFs takes up a lot of my time and energy. Translation is a lot of work.

I'm looking forward to seeing a prototype of the R6000, maybe just a mockup?
Please don't pay too much attention to this type of Chinese UAV.
At present, China's UAV industrial chain is very developed. Anyone can easily purchase these components and easily design and assemble any shape of drone product according to their wishes. I often see drones of various shapes on Chinese social media such as Douyin, Weibo, and Bilibili. Some of the authors are just secondary school students..........
We can try to focus on the component developers. For example, UAV motors, flight control systems, radar detection .......... Give them more attention and support. They are the future hope of Chinese drones.

My friend sent me an invitation, and he said that he could provide me with the exhibitor's ID card and visit "2024 Airshow China" without restrictions. But I really couldn't make it to Zhuhai to visit the Airshow.

Oh no … what a pity

The keyword is the "low-altitude economy."

Large civilian drones and large passenger-carrying multicopter/compound-wing aircraft represent China's new round of economic layout for the future.

This is not a gimmick or a fundraising story. I have inadvertently learned a bit about it.

You need to change your perspective.

Since the age of horse-drawn carriages (animal-powered transportation), all modern means of transportation and traffic rules (self-powered steamships, trains, cars, airplanes) have been inventions and innovations from Western societies. They have led various revolutions in human societies, increased productivity, and improved economic paradigms. Fully electric, intelligently controlled unmanned multicopters and compound-wing aircraft have innate advantages in vertical takeoff and landing and short to medium-range flights with high safety (far surpassing existing helicopters in cities).

The Chinese government views these as one of the revolutionary modes of transportation for the future. It is the next generation of vehicles, a category of vehicles that China has fully initiated and leads.

You need to consider that while the United States and Europe are still fighting to defend the market share of gasoline-powered cars, China is leading the Middle Eastern tycoons into the next era.

To add, the aircraft is just the tip of the iceberg. The unseen work beneath the surface is even more massive. Perhaps 2028 will be the time when this industry truly faces the world.

I'm certainly aware of the economic impact of UAVs at scale. I don't object to the focus on these companies and products. But people usually focus on these companies and products that are full of business gimmicks and ignore the companies that are really delving into the core technology. This can lead to many companies constantly investing more and more in the marketing level of their products and not having the will or enough money to invest more in the R&D level.
We need to allocate some attention to those companies that are willing to go deeper into R&D and to those researchers who are working quietly behind the scenes to develop technology.
Sorry. This topic does not coincide with the main thread and is not suitable for in-depth discussion. We'll end it there. For in-depth discussion, please discuss it in other related threads.
