Turkish Havelsan is a project partner for INDONESIAN AEW Aircraft project

Turkish-Indonesian agreement on potential development of AEW&C aircraft

The Casa CN-235 to be the platform on which the joint project will be based

Indonesian Aerospace (IAe) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Turkish company Havelsan -active in the field of information systems and applications also for the civil aviation and defense sectors- for the potential development of Aew&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control System) aircraft. According to what was reported in recent days by the Indonesian industry itself through one of its managers, Mohamad Arif Faisal, the basic platform for the development of the joint project will be a CN-235, a twin-engine turboprop tactical transport airplane produced by IAe and the Spanish company Casa.

Havelsan itself has already gained experience in the development of AEW&C aircraft, having already been involved in the E-7T Peace Eagle (B-737 Aew&C) program for the Turkish Air Force (it developed 90% of the software used in the aircraft system). It also has the ability to modify, update and modernize the MCS (Mission Computing System) interface software, weapons controls and electronic support measures.

Maximum confidentiality, at least for now, about the start of the project and its development objectives.

The Turkish defence industry exported goods worth 566 Million USD in September 2024. That's an increase of 30 Percent compared to the same month last year.

Great to see Turkish defence sector flourishing!

Once KAAN is ready, expect a LOT of interest from many Muslim countries to buy this plane. Hope Turkey is already thinking of setting up both a domestic and export production line from the very start.

Even if fighters like J-31 turn out to be initially superior, lots of Muslim countries will accept a lesser KAAN in order to support Turkey and they know that the aircraft will be constantly upgraded throughout its 25-30 year lifespan.
J35 will not be superiour to Kaan.

Albania to get kamikaze drones from Turkey - PM Rama

TIRANA, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan will give a "considerable" number of kamikaze drones of an unspecified type to Albania, the country's Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Thursday.
"It is a present that comes as a strong message from the Republic of Turkey that Albania is unhittable," Rama told a joint news conference during on one-day visit by Erdogan.
The so-called kamikaze drone is a loitering munition that cruises towards its target before plummeting at velocity and detonating on impact.

A spokesperson for the government contacted by Reuters was unable to provide any further details on the number or type of drones.
Rama also said that the acquisition of an unspecified number of Turkish kamikaze drones does not mean "Albania will attack anyone."
Most countries in the Western Balkans, including Albania, have started to upgrade their aging militaries after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.

Albania and Turkey are both members of NATO. The government in Tirana has already acquired a fleet of Turkish-made Bayraktar reconnaissance and attack drones.

The BAE shares in FNSS have been bought out by Nurol, effectively ending their participation in the company, I wonder if the tech transfer agreements will be affected.

Turkiye's 2025 defence and national security budget will be $47 billion

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced that a total of 1 trillion 608 billion lira will be allocated for the defense and security sector in 2025

according to current Dollar exchange rate ( $47 billion )

Note : as the Dollar exchange rate will increase in 2025 , it will be 40-44 billion dollars

Another good lesson to our NATO Allies

Aselsan General Manager Ahmet AKYOL

The embargo applied to ASELFLIR-300T and the development of ASELFLIR-410 as a result

There was also an embargo on the Helicopter Cameras

A European ally of ours had informed us that they would not give us a critical component in the camera* used for Helicopters, citing that it was used in the fight against terrorism in Syria.

We made a Camera from scratch there as well. We made the components inside. We installed it on our ATAK Helicopter and gave it to the Turkish Army.
We also exported it abroad.

3-4 years passed, we finished the job. A delegation from the relevant Country came and said, 'You have such a request, is it valid?' I said, 'No, it is not valid,
we made its local version.

This number is pretty deceptive, man. Our defense budget for 2025 is about 27 billion USD based on the current exchange rate. If we factored in all security expenses, a lot of countries would show way bigger budgets on paper.

$27 billion for the Army , Navy and Air Force

what about Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Command ?
in the internal security allocation are Police , Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Command

The Gendarmerie General Command is like an army with 192,978 personnel.
(They are larger than the armies in Europe)

Police Special Forces is like an Army with 22.000 personnel using even UCAVs ,T-129 Attack Helicopters to fight PKK terrorism

China spends a large portion of its huge defense budget on ensuring security within the country
