I agree. And this has been acknowledged at the highest levels of the Government that agreements with China are not reliable. There is zero trust with China.

That is why, hopefully, the entire infrastructure will be geared to monitor these agreements.

India's demand was pre-2020 setup, and if it's true then it's a clear win for Indian military diplomacy. Can't trust China, hopefully we will remain cautious & not reduce the arms buildup on the LAC. We will get to know the real reason why China relented, probably within a few months.

So, here's the thing about the LAC in the Depsang Plains. The administered LAC is the actual ground position where India has full control. It's like the line where our posts and infrastructure are set up, and we know we have full authority there.

But then there's the perceived LAC, which is where we believe the boundary between India and China should be. It’s a bit further out from the administered line. Indian patrols go right up to this perceived LAC, because we consider that area as ours even though we don't fully control it with permanent posts. So, our patrols act as a way to show that this is still our territory.

The Chinese do the same thing from their side. They have their own idea of where the LAC should be, and they patrol up to those points, which sometimes overlaps with our patrol areas. That’s why these patrols become a big deal — both sides are showing they have a claim over that stretch of land. @Pingle

It's a welcome move. It basically says, we acknowledge your strength. China had pinned India to be just another South Asian country. Hence the salami slicing and the bullying. Now, India stands vindicated. We don't have ambitions in China but we will not tolerate Chinese shenanigans on LoC. The message is loud and clear.

We are building up our forces in an unprecedented scale in the region. Building roads, tunnels, improving our defence capabilities. Any unwanted trick by Chinese will be dealt with strength and diplomacy.

India is definitely on the right track with its border infrastructure push, and the roads shown in these images are a prime example of that. The new alignment connecting Saser La, Murgo, and Sasoma, the new 135 km-long Chushul-Dungti-Fukche-Demchok road is exactly what we need to counter any salami-slicing tactics by the Chinese.

Guys, the Indian Army’s back to patrolling Depsang and Demchok, right up to where we see the LAC. The Chinese are feeling the heat now, especially after the U.S. deployed Tomahawk LACMs in Japan and NATO's beefing up. With the Himalayas front cooling down, China’s lucky they can shift focus to their eastern coast. If not, they'd be scrambling to handle a multi-front mess, and their wannabe superpower dreams would’ve been crushed hard. @Pingle @Tumba

This is really great and I was long saying this that China will disengage..... China will do a posturing but will never at all engage a giant like India in a full scale war.... and actually I have always liked the maturity both China and India shows.....

However we should not at all hault any infrastructure development going on the border with China and there should not be troops reduction as China can't be fully trusted and is a known backstabber....
