A lot of ifs, of course, but great news. Gives a breather to both countries, and since neither is going to stop building up, makes the likelihood of more serious skirmishes less. Don't think amy part sees any advantage of more tensions on this cold, barren border.

Both countries need to be focused on the economy rather than this BS border issue.

and both have the good and big geographical areas, such small border parts can be declared "No man's land Zone"

Whether in the Galwan Valley, Xidagou, or Tiannan Valley, it is necessary to invade the river valleys and isolate China several tens of kilometers away from the east bank of the Shyok Valley, so as not to directly threaten the DS-DBO highway.

so this is just another pause, but this after both sides had shed shed blood. If India boasts of still building up, it’s not like this will be the last the Indians intent for the LAC to be an issue.

After the 1962 war, both China and India existed in the Depusanping area. After the Galwan River Valley conflict in 2020, the so-called four patrol points of Indians in Depusanping area were recaptured by the People's Liberation Army. In the fifth military commander level negotiation, our side proposed that India withdraw the Doula Special Oridi base, and the Indians would not withdraw, so a large-scale confrontation ensued.

Just a suspension of confrontation, China and India have reached a border patrol agreement, which does not involve sovereignty territorial disputes, that is to say, the current actual control line remains unchanged

Whilst India is quarrelling with the West china is simply giving India headroom to focus on this and let India create a slight wedge or the seeds of a bigger future wedge with the West

An undeniable pattern will emerge where India is either ok with the West but kept busy by china or vice versa. there is ofcourse the Russia factor and as the west might be feeling angry at having to negotiate with Putin they will also know their relaxed attitude to Indian support for Russia helped keep Russia above water

Why would China give India more headroom to "quarrel with the West", the "slight wedge or the seeds of a bigger future wedge with the west" can continue even without China doing anything.

Do you think West will see this and "quarrel more with India"? Or India will now "quarrel more with the West"? You fail to explain how this tiny gesture on our border has any bearing on India-West ties.

Border arrangement can go any way in future, no one said anything to the contrary. But at this instant, India has achieved its objective of getting pre 2020 setup. What future holds will be seen in future by both sides, and not just China.

The border dispute did not go back to 2020, it was a patrol back to 2020, and the actual control line remained unchanged. Look at the red area on the map I provided on the 36th floor, which is China's current actual control area, and the yellow area is the buffer zone for both sides to disengage from contact
