US is neither deterred, nor defeated in the region. It continues to maintain subtantial footprint in the Middle East. If the US feels the need to fight another war in the region, it can. It has the capacity to do so.

I don't get your continued underselling of American military capability and options.

Let us hope that will not be required by the current situation. War is always a last option means to conduct policy.

Claiming victory is pretty much only what is left for the other parties in the region. The victor can be magnanimous in at least extending this courtesy to the vanquished, surely.

If it could, it would have by now. Even top military generals and Mike Pompeo of all people had to talk Trump out of attacking Iran directly. War isn't fought on paper, and many have concluded, especially old dusty Republicans like McCain and Graham, that US would have to resort to nukes.

Which adds to the cost, and inflation, etc. Then the private sector and the owners of global capital will eventually deem Israel too high of a risk to trade with. But that will take time, so be patient. Every little helps.

This is about hurting Israel economically, not zero trade sanctions like what Trump wanted to do with Iran. Also I believe this access to limitless funds is a bit overstated, as the owners of financialised global capital dont care about flags but about risk and reward.
