I understand that. But it affects only one aspect of shipping to mainly Europe. This is more symbolic than effective.

But most of Europe is solidly supporting Israel, some with weapons, so it is effectively a party to the conflict.

I don't know that the US would bother assembling a coalition of nations to patrol the area and risk their soldiers' lives (however small the probability might be) for something that is merely symbolic. Chances for escalation are increased.

Earlier the total premium including war and strikes would be around 0.015 to 0.02% generally. Now for covering war and strikes for transit through this declared area they want 0.15%.

Now I know you will say that all this will subside but that misses the point. Everything eventually ends, even WW2 eventually ended. The point is to keep up the pressure for as long as possible.

So far the Houthis are winning and the US is losing.

As long as the houthis maintain that area as being unsafe then the goals are achieved, no matter if their missiles get shot down or not. Houthis need electronic warefare, badly, though.

Eilat port was basically emptied of docking ships and activity because of houthis attacks on ships in the red sea and the port and you call that "mere symbolism"? Add to the fact that the damage to ISrael's sea-borne trade and access to products+ commodities caused by the Houthis forced the US to enter the war on Israel's side? you're stating obviously false things here.
