Given the sat imagery so far points to small PGMs/Drones. Seems highly unlikely that Israel fired a large amount of air launched BMs since we don’t have a single impact crater on satellite imagery yet.

Everyone is talking about it. But if you dig deeper, there’s no confirmation at all. The single source is an NYT report that itself is based on unnamed sources.

As someone with insight into how media works, I can’t help but ask. Has Khamenei actually spoken of this massive retaliation, on record? If not, why these speculative reports, and why now? Why are they beating the drums for war?

To me it looks like an attempt to paint Iran into a corner. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

All officials in Iran are talking about an unprecedented attack on Israel.

If that can be regraded as an official statement of intent, that means that Iran has committed to a course of action - publicly.

I’m surprised it has done that, because now there’s no degree of freedom left. Iran has to go ahead with a massive attack, or risk losing face.

Which means Israel will attempt to respond even more massively.

They had planned for this confrontation since October 7th. Iran has no choice but to respond to the Israeli aggression. There was no degree of freedom to begin with. Things are moving forward in a predictable way, possibly as planned, for a larger confrontation between Iran and Israel, and maybe the US.

I always say that there is a possibility that some Ikhwan al-Muslimin factions inside Hamas orchestrated October 7th with Turkey and Qatar to drag Iran into the war. Iran and our allies were completely unaware of Hamas plans for attacking Israel.
