United States elections 2024: Donald Trump Wins

Laugh.......

Trump can't do anything outside the US (other than looking dump)

This couple with the margainal house and senate gain means US is not going to do anything at all for another 2 years. He can't table any policy and he can't do anything other than issue executive order, which only affect Federal Government function.

There are going to be 2 more years of US Government doing absolutely nothing, then maybe the last year with him you will see him invoking martial law and try to overturn the congress, or maybe he would be dead by then (He will be 82 or 83 in 2029) I don't know.

The worst part for the U.S is that If you look at Trump honestly and objectively he is a absolute GRIFTER with multiple shady business interests and contacts

Normally a president has to have a eye on his second term

Trump has been handed a free 4 year term to further his post term interests in whatever way he wants,
Between him and all the other grifters and con men surrounding him it's cash in time

The limits of democracy have been laid bare in front of us, democrat mistakes aside you would think a enlightened electorate would see the danger signs but instead the opposite has happened

With due respect, this sounds like a wishful thing

Trump has shown during his previous tenure, that he is a man of actions and largely keeps his election promises. Of course hes not powerful enough to do 100% as he will.

Regardless, my point was the psychological ripple-effect of electing a man who instigated a violent coup d etat

This is not correct. To change the rules of the senate you require only 51 votes. Filibuster is a product of senate rules. And yes they can change senate rule to push a legislation. This was discussed in 2022 on Voting rights.

So yes, senate republicans can indeed do that, just like democrats have thought about it in the past.

The reason why it is not done is because it then opens the possiblity of simply doing away with filibuster. Hence the term "nuclear". Which cuts both the ways.
Again, the vote is the vote, you need to invoke that nuclear option before you can go to the vote (that's the basis of filibuster) It's not like okay I invoke the nuclear option and then we go directly to vote to support my nuclear option

As I said, you need the people from the opposite side to agree that is breaking the decourum and that issue is minor, they can appeal to your option you tabled. This is how this work.

Nuclear Option is the modification and suspension of the rule....

Trump said a lot of thing, and only actually done a little

He said he will build the wall, that wall is nowhere to be seen

He said he will throw Hilary Clinton in jail, well, she isn't.

What had Trump achieve between 2017 to 2021?

Oh yeah and how many of us do you see celebrating this???? If anything it's a point of shame but we don't see these people as one of us,more someone who is beyond help
You subcontinent converts think Babur is your ancestor as if his invader horde brought woman from Uzbekistan. They grabbed your women only. Thats why your lot has current demography.

In the rule you mentioned, it calls out specifically, "except on one days notice in writing".

The unanimous consent is needed for suspension without notice.

After this, unless Trump really did govern the US and deliver all his promise, the next election will most likely make Biden winning 2020 a small spectacle.

This will be like people are sick of George W Bush and went with Obama for two consecutive term.

There is serious questions being raised by security analysts in Europe about the US commitment to NATO, with Trump in power.

As for Norway, we dont worry too much, because Norway and the US have a an excellent relationship plus many natural shared interests. Will probably effect some Norwegian exports, but Norways gigantic oil funds is able to weather almost all economic challenges. Trump also seems to be a fan of white blonde norwegians.

The EU otoh is gonna face difficulties.

well, that's still mean that was a normal motion to table......

Again, if this is the case you can just invoke the precedent, the Dem and the GOP (Both were senate majority since 2013) would have abolished Filibuster......

Well, look at it this way.

Back in November last year, Trump stop Johnson from tabling the Ukraine and Israel measure, but yet relented in April 2024. He don't need to do that, and if he had not, that bill is never going to pass.

There is going to be back pressure from house and senate GOP on policy they regarded as bi-partisan policy.
