Sardar Hajizadeh: 4 Kheibar Shekan missiles were launched from Khuzestan to Idlib (c. 1200km away)

Longest range precision ballistic missile strike since...?

For comparison, the distance between Iran and Israel is 1000km. So it seems they chose to fire from Khuzestan (which is much further from Idlib than other bases in Iran) on purpose.

I don't believe Iran implicated the KRG for the recent attack. But they add confusion to the whole thing when they say they targeted Mossad headquarters and a American military base. Mossad headquarters is in Israel. If Iran hit that or the Israeli Knesset building then we can say they hit Israel. Having Twitter users mass publish false reports about targeting American military bases in Iraq is misinformation.
You are right, people should be precise with their language and avoid grandiose claims to exaggerate. No US bases or sites were hit, and the Mossad HQ is indeed in Israel, not Iraq. However, we know that Iraqi Kurdistan has great relations with Israel, and even exports oil to Israel. Iraqi Kurdistan is also known to be a base for anti-Iran separatists and espionage, and local cells of Mossad spies are said to have safe houses there. That is what Iran claims to target (among other targets) and what some people incorrectly call a 'Mossad HQ'.

The Iraqi govt need to make the Americans leave the country that’s only way them to have peace.

I think the real lesson here is not the false claims as pointed out, but Iran's demonstration of its remote attack capabilities, specially range and accuracy. That may indeed be Iran's point with this attack.

Yes, we already saw that at c. 300-500km range in previous ballistic missile strikes, but this was the first time Iran ever fired missiles at targets 1200km away (and struck them with precision). 1200km, coincidentally, is roughly how far most targets in Israel are from Iran.

Exactly. The targets may be chosen not to cause huge damage, but only to show the determination of Iran to respond and its capabilities to do so. Smart, and wise.

I think it’s obvious. It is a second best thing to airforce to strike deep behind enemy lines. As they can't hope to match US or even Israeli airforce, they invest in drones and missile artillery. They just seek imbalance that can work on their benefit.

Of course. It is Iran's right to pursue its national interests as best as possible. Others, of course, will do the same.

Iran has the right of self defense. We all agree on that
