What @Davey Crockett is saying is not far from the truth. The word Shariah has developed very negative connotations in the West because of propaganda, but there is nothing sinister about it. It’s the body of law that developed in Islamic societies over centuries.

One area where sharia is really effective is in criminal law. It has draconian punishments for crimes like theft, murder etc. The reasoning behind is to deter crime by giving exemplary punishments. In the West soft punishments mean that the law is protecting criminals at the cost of their victims.

In countries where sharia law is applied the crime rate is extremely low compared to Western countries. Family law is another area. Rates of divorce, extra marital sex, and all kinds of deviant behavior are low.

Some of the worst problems in Western societies are related to the breakdown in family values. Any law that reverses that trend would be beneficial.

Problem I and others face in small Hicktown, Oklahoma is a crooked court system milking us dry by charging us with misdemeanors to balance their budget.

Trust any Iman over any Okie rancher/lawyer/judge right now.

Well, I was taught something they don't teach anymore when I grew up, it's called the "middle ground". Even if I don't agree on something, that does not mean they have no value, I would much rather meet those I don't agree with in the middle than dismiss it altogether. I mean what good could I do if I just tell you "you are wrong, go back to your country" Let's say even if I am a racist mofo, I don't like black, brown or greaseball, just by telling you off does not mean I am not going to see another Pakistani in America or anywhere else, that's a fact and I have to live with it whether or not I agree or not.

People are different, that's why there are different way of thinkings, just by ignoring the other voice doesn't mean they will go away, it just can't. I remember a college friend of mine open up to me of him being gay back 20 some years ago, he thinks there is going to be an issue for him to fit in post coming out of closet. I don't like gay people, I think being gay is being weird, but the facts remain, that's his choice, I got no say in, so I told him "Would you stop being gay if the world cannot accept it?" No, that's not how this work, him being a homosexual is fine with me, as long as he didn't make a pass at me, and I am fine with that.

Strange eh? The world used to be more conservative, yet we are more liberal, and the world now is more liberal, and we are now being more conservative.

Exactly, And If America has a rule that you have to be pro Govt no matter what it does than many won't or can't immigrate, if the day comes where America makes it illegal for people to call the Govt evil or Genocide support or make anyone's life hell for holding a position, I will pack my bags and leave without a Fuss. Not my country hence not my rule, Americans decide what they want and they have that right, same logic i always use for even Taliban Rule in Afghanistan or Palestine or even Pakistan. My entire Disagreement with US govt for its bullying others and forcing them to their will to serve its own interest even if it means the destruction of that said country.

Funny your story about a gay friend, just remind me of a discussion with a Gay co-worker who is little bit worried about Trump's recent victory but not as much as some of other Gay/Trans co-workers who are cussing America/n's and panicking like that Trump winning and next step is either internment camps for Gays or making their existing illegal, at least 2 gays people who are being overdramatic saying that he will make Gay marriages illegal which I doubt he can do because it will be against US constitution, and even if he does that (worse case scenario) those two gay guys doesn't even want to get married or believe in the institution of marriage to begin with, just like many many other Liberal Americans, why you need marriage in America? if you are not associating with a traditional religion, marriage means nothing nor serves any purpose, you can live with your partner in America without marriage, have kids and do all sorts of things hence the need of marriage is not there.
I think they are being overdramatic and craving Attention.

If I was born in America, I would want my country to have good standing in the world, not fear it or being famous for mass murdering innocent civilians for stealing resources, or invade countries based on lies, or support Genocide, I would want to leave a country for my future Generation where my country stand up for what's right and not what serve its interest, and have the same moral's and ethical values regardless of their religion/color/race, if America stand up for Muslims of Uhighur/Bosnia and not for Palestine that tells me that America is not standing for what's right but what it serves its interest at the cost of innocent civilians including babies being massacred and starved to death, No I will never stand up for that nor a country that does it even if it makes me isolated in my standing.

Please name me one country where Shariah law in applied and practiced in its origniality ? I know not in KSA/Iran/Pakistan/UAE/Malaysia/Indo/Egypt/Algeria/Morocco/Yemen/Sudan/Oman/Qata/Kuwait/Afghanistan etc
