Indian Politics and Internal News

From the current green it seems a bit odd that the definition basically means "be like the White Western countries" more than any other sensible measurement. Like does "Iceland" have any particular noticeable lead on anybody?
I would like to add Russia in NICs also 👍

Three workers died in the collapse of an under-construction structure for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project near Vasad in Anand district on Tuesday. A fourth worker, who was also trapped, was rescued and is being treated at a hospital.

The collapse took place around 5pm near the Mahi River when a temporary structure of steel and concrete block being used for foundation work gave way at the construction site.

“Three workers have died in this incident. Two workers were initially taken to hospital for treatment, where one of them succumbed to injuries. Another worker who was trapped in the debris was also found dead. The surviving worker is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” Anand district superintendent of police Gaurav Jasani told HT.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which is implementing the project, had earlier said that four workers were trapped between concrete blocks at the construction site.

This is the second fatal accident at the bullet train project site in recent months. In August this year, one labourer was crushed to death and at least six others were injured after a part of the construction crane collapsed near Kambola village in Vadodara district.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor, India’s first bullet train project, spans 508 kilometres and is expected to have trains operating at speeds of up to 320 kilometres per hour. The project incorporates Japanese Shinkansen technology and aims to reduce the travel time between the two cities from six hours to two.

Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw earlier this year announced at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 that the high-speed train will begin operations between Surat and Billimora in South Gujarat in 2026.

Newly Industrialized Countries 2023

The word industrialized refers to a region that has developed industries. This includes tech enterprises, manufacturing, and other industries that bolster the economic activity of the region.Another term related to industrialization is Newly Industrialized Country, or NIC. This is a term that was created by economists and political scientists to describe countries with economic development that falls between the classifications of First World and developing. Countries that are classified as NICs have rapid export-driven economic growth and a migration of workers from rural areas to urbanized regions.

There are a handful of nations that are currently categorized as NICs. These nations are Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey. Most economists and political scientists believe that these are NICs. However, there are a few other nations that are up for debate, including Argentina, Russia, Chile, Sri Lanka, and Egypt. :-)

My Indian colleagues who were all highly paid oil n gas professionals privately told me that the reason they refuse to go back to India is cuz theys don’t want their kids to be in a polluted environment. Some also stated that Indian culture is toxic and they don’t want their kids exposed to it. The sniveling, the snitching, the back biting the constant envy, cribbing and griping.

This is all part of gypsy culture and most are glad they left all that behind.

I told Ajay Ghatak this a while ago, and I’m sure he’s one of the few here who actually understands this.

Phunny. From my experience, Indians living in America or Mars, are Indians. Sometimes worse than people back home. They didn't move to America because they were enlightened.

"The sniveling, the snitching, the back biting the constant envy, cribbing and griping."

I don't even understand what any of that is. Back biting? Constant envy? Cribbing and griping?

This is all subcontinent slang from the colonial era.

Google it and learn how nasty that culture is.

Or ask Ajay Ghatak or better yet Doc……..they’ll tell ya.

Just asking, how old are you guys? All this stereotyping seems so last generation Indian uncle talk of 90's and 2000's?

I don't get these stereotypes and I am from 80s. I have spent 14 years in US. People of "great character" didn't move to America. I actively avoided "Indian circle" in US, from class friends, to room mates, to friends in general.

List of current emerging markets

There is no generally binding definition of the term "emerging market." It refers to countries that, based on their economic performance, can be classified as developing countries as well as industrialized countries. The term "emerging market country" is best described as "newly industrialized country."

Currently, 10 countries belong to this classification, most of which are located in southern and eastern Asia. The largest economies among them currently are China, India and Brazil. In total, these 10 countries have 3.84 billion inhabitants, which is about 48.09 percent of the world's population.

It might seem funny now but 20 years from now when a new generation of Indians grow up learning about "Tejo Mahalay" in their history books it will be the new "real" Indian history, along with other crazy theories like 'Out of India' and 'IVC were Vedic Hindu'.

In twenty years there may not be anyone left to counsel that might not be a good look to go that route.

Police arrested two youths from the Taj Mahal premises on Saturday after they were seen pouring water from a bottle there. A local right-wing Hindu outfit claimed that the two were its members and had offered holy 'Gangajal' as they believe the monument is a Hindu temple.

Suraj Kumar Rai, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Agra City), said the two youths were arrested following a written complaint by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel posted inside the Taj Mahal.

"The youths entered the premises as tourists. The complaint said that the youths were seen pouring water inside the Taj Mahal premises," he told reporters.

They have been arrested after the incident and a case has been filed at the Tajganj Police Station, Rai said.

The case has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 223 (disobedience to order promulgated by public servant), 298 (injuring or defiling place of worship), and 299 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings), the police said, adding the matter is being investigated in detail.

A purported video of the incident also appeared on social media.

A local Hindu organisation Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) has claimed that youths are its members and the two offered water of the holy Ganges on the premises as it is a Hindu temple, 'Tejo Mahalay'.

The incident comes just days after a member of the group carrying Kanwar on her shoulders tried to enter the Taj Mahal to offer Gangajal.

However, she was stopped by the policemen deployed at the barrier of the west gate of the Taj Mahal.

In a purported video of the Saturday incident, a youth is seen pouring water on the floor above the locked basement where the graves of Mughal emperor Shahjahan and his wife Mumtaz are located.

Sanjay Jaat, a spokesperson of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), said the two arrested youths — Vinesh Chaudhary and Shyam — are its members.

"They entered the Taj Mahal. One of them offered 'Gangajal' inside the premises of the Taj Mahal which was a Hindu temple of Lord Shiva. We are proud of it and will keep doing it," he said.

Seems like they are planning a Babri special on it.

Taj Mahal is a Muslim monument made by the Mughals.

There is no way Non-Muslims can claim the Taj Mahal.

Its a shame that the Taj Mahal is in a Non-Muslim country.
But
Seems like they are planning a Babri special on it.

Any difference to anyone other than India

It will be what it will be
