Its not about love lost - but what comes after . Iran puppets a large percentage of an entire sect(ouch.. no its not “sectarian” per se) which undertakes religious pilgrimages to Iran including the Ayatollah who regardless of his piety or not which is not for moi to judge is not equal in stature to the way it’s portrayed. The Iranian religious leadership which is Iranian and political in nature is considered to be leaders by this portion of Pakistan’s population and can be used by Iran against Pakistan. To counter it - what will Pakistan use in its currency to have other nations cajole Iran to back off?
Very defeatist set of arguments. If two strikes are not enough to respond in kind, would ten be the magic number? Where is this dotted redline?

In paper, Pakistani military is stronger than Iranian military and should be able to retaliate without much difficulty. However, in practice, it seems like Iran have the advantage. Most of Pakistan's military assets are in Indian border and already bogged down. Western border with Iran and Afghanistan is held by second tier forces and Pakistan will have hard time diverting resources from Indian border to western border if there is an escalation. On the top of that, Iran have strategic depth In Pakistan due to the large Shia population, many of whom look up to Iran. So most likely, Pakistan military won't launch any retaliatory strikes.

The state televison instead of crafting a response to the Iranians is busy using this incident for propaganda purposes against PTI.

Lack of leadership shown here. This can be an opportunity to bring the country together.

Imran during 2019 and Musharraf during the 2002 standoff with India did well to gel the country during those turbulent times. The country was polarized then as well.

Were you in the planning room brother? Before the PC? The point is there are many childish anti Pakistan comments in this thread.

Some are due to anger and frustration and some are due to apathy. Have you noticed not one Iranian insulted their own military despite all that has happened in Iran last few years.

Introspection time.
When did the Iranian military overthrow its govt? Introspection due there too

Maybe not the correct thread to ask, but regarding Iran‘s strikes yesterday, will there be a response and how could thsi look like?

Where has “doing nothing” been officially mentioned? like I said, this is a public space, these are extremely sensitive matters, matters of national security. They are not discussed Willy nilly.

And you are right to be angry and upset, in fact that fire in your belly shows you love your nation and are angry by this affront.

Rest assured there are many many who feel the same.
Understood, you are right.

Right now, aside from the tragic loss of life my biggest discomfort is not understanding Iran's calculus.

Thinking right now is, do not hesitate in earning back our respect swiftly, then let's talk, but then deteriorating mutual respect has not happened suddenly.

Just some thoughts.

Pakistan has consistently resisted pressure from the United States and Saudi Arabia to align with the anti-Iran stance. However, Iran's recent actions have made it increasingly challenging for Pakistan to maintain this stance. The strikes, which yielded no apparent benefits for Iran, have resulted in the loss of a reliable ally in the region and have strained Pakistan's diplomatic relations with Iran.

Regarding Jaishul Addal, Pakistan has, over the years, handed over key leadership figures to Iran, including the JuAD chief Regi, who was subsequently executed. In contrast, Iran not only harbors the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and other Baloch separatist groups within its borders but has refrained from extraditing any Baloch separatist leaders to Pakistan. Despite Pakistan presenting evidence of BLA leaders collaborating with India's RAW on Iranian soil, Iran has not taken action in this regard.

Works both ways aye but constantly taking your trousers off in public and here we are. 😊
I am sorry. Their’s took the initiative, there is nothing to criticize on their side (at least at the moment) and going on tangent this situation is exactly what everyone was pointing to when people’s home were being raided and rallies being mauled.

We were crying don’t create the rift it won’t bode well for the country. Now it’s spilt milk. So maybe it’s also time to introspect and undo the mistakes of the recent past instead of drumming the same old beaten and flawed theme on PTV and other conventional media.

I will grant you this because so far you have made excellent posts. But tell me this, you may not know or care but let me tell you comments on this forum are read by serving people.

How demoralising it is for them then that what Pakistanis type.

That is all I will say. Baki you have your opinion and are welcome to it.
Their inaction is equally demoralizing for the nation

If they wanted to wantonly sow chaos, why the specific choice of these three nations.

Why not Turkey.

Why not strikes on the Saudis.

Why not Israel? 2 nuclear states instead of one. More chaos!

Cheers, Doc

Well who knows where this ends? I guess the implicit message in your point is Pakistan if the softer more immediate target.

The broader Iranian perspective and game plan is missing here, we are all guessing.

There will be a school of thought I would wager in Pakistan proposing a team up with USA, horrible consequences.
