PAF Special Purpose Assets - News, Discussions & Updates

That’s already in the pipeline.

WRT to EW fleet, following are the unconfirmed reports:

  • Global 6000 was acquired in 2022, while another has been acquired lately & suppose to be converted to EW platform on HAVA-SOJ standards, while no info available for the plan of additional aircrafts acquisition (status unknown for both aircrafts).
  • 6th DA20 was acquired post "Swift Retort", status unknown of 1st 3 aircrafts upgradation & conversion of remaining aircrafts to EW standards.

We have to make assumptions because there is very little or no information accessible about this project due to its sensitivity.

What are your thoughts about the Super King Airs, I mean they do have the potential to be converted to Guardrail like assets. 1342653450_565428b059_k.jpg

"We may think that we are at a good level, especially when the systems we have developed such as Air SOJ with remote mixing capability, an EH Pod with accompanying mixing capability, a UAV SOJ with close mixing capability and KORAL with the ability to support them from land are evaluated, but this is such an area that every Every day you have to update, update, renew, add to it. Would be good to see HAVASOJ in PAF service - it is of course one of two options available ( other being a chinese variant ). Lets see - I would have expected Turkey to procure more than 4, but i suspect that has more to do with inducing v2 of Havasoj in a few years.

I have severe doubts that Turkiye will ever need more than 4.

In view of Global 6000 acquisition with HAVA-SOJ type conversion and the DA20 upgrade, there will be 8–10 EW aircraft with the newest technology, which will be more than sufficient for PAF needs.

Therefore, don't expect to see this kind of aircraft in the near future.

not for when you need longer loitering times.

The role of EW aircrafts is not to loiter for longer than AEW&C aircrafts; rather, they are to act quickly in enemy territory and blind the adversary & return to base & let fighter aircrafts to can carry out their tasks.
