A non-nuclear armed Turkey needs to be careful, can't go in guns blazing else it might get nuked. Seems like Turkey's policy is always fight tomorrow but tomorrow never comes, lol.
No enemy of Israel would launch a frontal assault on Israel and hence this War of Attrition. Turkey can destroy Israel through proxies but then...well we have said enough about Turkey here.

I dont think you understand my point.
You seem to think this gives Israel autonomy, rather than a choice it forces them to make a choice between citizenship of Palestinians, or recognition of Palestine.

I am not totally in disagreement with you because no one knows the future and there is a remote, very remote chance, that there would be a binational state where Israelis would allow a semi-dignified life to the Palestinians but that state would still be Jewish in nature and quite possibly the Third Temple would be on the Israeli minds. The demographic threat is often talked about but I don't think Israelis are going to allow that situation to come to a boiling point. IMO, the Centrist Zionists like Thomas Friedman on NY Times are deviously coy about the demographic threat: They know and want Israel to forcefully take care of that 'problem' before it becomes a boiling point.

“Four Years Too Late”: Biden Spotted Carrying Book on Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine

November 30, 2024

Massachusetts (Quds News Network)- Outgoing US President Joe Biden surprised onlookers on Black Friday by leaving a Nantucket bookstore holding a book about the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. The book, The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine: A History of Settler Colonial Conquest and Resistance, 1917-2017, is authored by Columbia University professor emeritus Rashid Khalidi. It describes the creation of Israel as colonialism met with Palestinian resistance.

The image of Biden with the book sparked immediate attention. Khalidi, of Palestinian and Lebanese descent, responded to the news. “This is four years too late,” he told The New York Post. He criticized Biden’s timing, given the book’s focus on historical injustices and the role of US administrations in the Gaza genocide.

The book portrays modern Palestinian history as a colonial struggle. It unveils efforts by various powers that waged a war to displace Palestinians from their homeland. Khalidi also targets former President Donald Trump’s administration, calling it a “mouthpiece” for Israel. He further criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing his government as “the most extreme” in Israel’s history.

Khalidi, a vocal critic of US media bias on the Palestinian cause, declined to elaborate on his comments. However, his remark about Biden holding the book underscores years of frustration with US policy toward Palestine.

Biden, who often refers to himself as a Zionist, made no public comment about the book. It remains unclear if he bought it or received it during his visit to Nantucket Bookworks. Biden has consistently expressed support for the occupation state of Israel, telling Israeli President Isaac Herzog earlier this month, “You don’t have to be a Jew to be a Zionist.”

The timing of Biden’s appearance with Khalidi’s book comes as debates over US foreign policy in the Middle East continue to intensify. Khalidi’s statement highlights the growing divide between US rhetoric and the lived realities of the Palestinian people.

Having or reading a book means he wants to learn about a subject. Yes, even from authors who have a different perspective on a subject. that does not make him 'for' or 'against' any issue. Almost all (good) students of economics at least peruse through 'Das Kapital' by Karl Marx. That doesn't make them communists. It is an important book that had a great influence on modern world history (and continues to have). I have read it, and it is a very well written book, though somewhat difficult to understand due to its age and language.

"“Palestine was hardly Britain’s to give away”
Not just JFK. It is somewhat wrong reading of history that America always backed Israel! While Israel's importance greatly increased after the Israeli victory in the 1967 war, there was before that war and decades after that war, there were forceful, credible American attempts to make Israel behave. America was not so nearly totally in the Israeli pockets until about 30+ years ago. The last of the American assertiveness was when Sec. James Baker, under G. H. W. Bush (Bush senior) threatened Israel with sanctions. Before him, Reagan (and Thatcher!) too acted forcefully to check Israel when Western vital interests were at stake. Alas, even those right wing leaders look like the Che Gueveras of defiance now!

Why is it so impotant to understand the Israeli control of America? Because Israelis did smart politics to get hold of the media and the political organizations and that needs to be reversed using similar methods. I believe the number reason for Israel's near total dominance in America is the gradual taking over of the American socio-economic-political system which really became too powerful starting the Fall of the Soviet Union in early 90s--and that's probably not a coincidence. Bush senior was the last American President who did and would have exacted real price from Israelis!

A year of demonstrations, what has it achieved ?

Nothing, as I have stated from day one.

This is a photo-op for Democracts to regain what they lost. Sadly, it won't work; these cheap acts wouldn't wash away the much-spilled blood.

He said he's a Christian Zionist, but since he's been an elected official since his early days, you don't change overnight.

Last, that old geezer isn't going to remember the first paragraph, let alone what the whole book talks about.

Honestly, I believe the two state solution is dead. If they don't get it in 2025, they'll never get it.

In which case, Fatah should declare its intentions to give up on independence and demand citizenship in Israel. This would be a nightmare scenario for the zionists, because what they want is a Jewish majority to keep their ideals of Jewish supremacy.

This would absolutely destroy zionism, as half to a majority of the population will be automatically Palestinian.
two states solution is the only way, its also supported by majority of top hefty countries including BRICS.

It matters not what the top dogs and BRICS think; in the end, it's what Israel will want as it holds the keys.

This white terrorist cannot undo his crimes against humanity.

Biden carrying a certain book is so irrelevant. I think @EugeneP said it right above: It is not worth discussing. I don't think Biden is at all trying to 'undo' anything. He never really cared. He is dying, senile man who has been warmonger for 50 years in the American politics and is a self-proclaimed 'biggest Zionist in the world'.
He, despite some gains in the stock market, will be remembered by history as 'Genocide Joe' and for the one Democratic President who managed to alienate more American Jews, American Muslims, American Blacks/Hispanics than in living memory. But he doesn't care. And I have a feeling he has taken joy in sinking whatever little prospects Kamala Harris had in her own bid for the Presidency. Biden was almost literally kicked out of the 2024 race and he is not a forgiving person.
People like Biden and Trump are the good old white racist types, stuck in the Cold War, Jim Crowe racist mindset. The sooner their generation vanishes from America, the better. I would even take J.D. Vance as a welcome change should Trump dies off a heart attack soon after taking the office!

Trump will be the oldest person to be sworn in as US President. He like Biden may not be able to complete his full term due to being over 80 in the 2nd half of his term of office.

You are right that both Biden and Trump are old white racists. Biden is just more careful with his words.

He will forever be remembered as Genocide Joe for sure. His clumsy support for Israel has allowed the world to see the real Israel, and the consequences of the ICJ and ICC rulings will have long term determental effects on Israel for sure. Historically American presidents have protected the Israeli's from themselves and their worse excesses, and now that did not happen. That will not bode well for Israel now.
