I don't pretend otherwise. I have no allegiance to my cultural and religious background and heritage. If it were up to me, I'd systematically uproot and destroy it.

But like how many Hindus are fond of reminding Pakistani Muslims, there is an older culture which predates our own in South Asia and those cultural and societal ills are allowed to fester and spread in the name of "indigineity" and "decolonization". And they form the base for many regressive practices among Muslims too.

Because otherwise South Asia will never be united. What's more Bharat will always be a liability for the rest of South Asia as a country which will try to hold them back out of spite and communal hatred. Tbh now I see Bharat as the main reason why Pakistan-Bharat ties are so bad, not the other way around.
