Units of the Syrian Arab Army are engaged in violent clashes with terrorist groups on the Athriya-Khanaser axis, southeast of Aleppo, and are making progress towards Khanaser.

Syria is done; the Russians do not have much fight in them due to the drain from Ukraine. We could see Syria enter into a prolonged civil war.

The Russians themselves acted very late in the game when Assad was on his knees. Had they acted at the start of the conflict and pacified and secured the borders, they wouldn't have to deal with what they see in front of them today. Timing is everything.

Brother, For some additional perspective, Syrian opposition forces were with fighting the Assad regime over Aleppo from 2012-2016 before the government finally pushed them back with Russian support.
Here, their defenses shattered in 3 days.
So yeah, this not a good look for Al-Assad.

This brother is looking more and more like end of war in Afghanistan when the Taliban took advantage of a government reliant on foreign help and this looking more like the end of Assad.
Not so quick my friend.

Syria was under so much more pressure the first time against ISIS and all Qaeda groups.

Largely due to the absence of Hezbollah, which has been proven to be harden warriors from fighting with Israelis for years.

Are you aware that the Russian fighting in Syria was just bombing by 2-3 dozen fighter-bombers, military advisers and special forces?

Russia does not need to send 20-30,000 men with 2-300 tanks to fight with SAA in Syria

They pretty much have the planes in theatre now and there are reports more will arrive imminently.

RuAF has barely been touched by Ukraine war and so even sending 2-3 squadrons more won't make any difference to the fighting in Ukaine, which will soon wind down as US/Europe will force Zelensky to capitulate to Putin.

A clip published from Hama - Syria Defense Systems
The Syrian army's ground air force during its interception
Suicide drones launched by the factions
Syrian armed forces, I am actually surprised by the amount
of the support that reached the factions... their continued release
drones even and at night refers to two things:

1-The drones are equipped with night vision lenses..then this is a disaster.

2- Launching it with the aim of distracting the opponent and spreading panic.

Images from the clashes between the Assad Regime and the Syrian rebels in the Hama Axis.

It means that the civilians there are also divided between the Mujahideen Groups and the Government, seems to me like the defence just collapsed. It’s almost not possible by pure strength alone there had to have been Afghan moment in the Syrian Army the defence’s collapsing or general incompetence involved 🤔

How did they capture one of the most populated cities in Syria in less than 3 days??

SAA were outnumbered by rebels forces. Reinforcement is coming to help turn the tide.

Probably because of the lack of the will to fight. Nowadays, what are Arabs willing to fight for? Probably some petty interests. Nothing grand that unites people.
