I find Rafael is too expansive with less credibilities. It's Air superiority characteristics are poorer to even Mig35....
We have report that Rafale will not be able to replace Su30 stealth for nuclear weapons operations. Su30 stealth successfully win in air, can cross border of Pakistan-china as needed.....
If Rafale are sent to cross border then they are less chance to survive. They won't back even if cross border. This way Rafale is supposed to be mainly used within Indian territory 😕
Hence I would favour LCA MK1 to be in more number in place of Rafale 👍

I have read it's the "stealth upgrade" of Su30mki ..
It's also called "Super Sukhoi" version of Su30mki...

well after wasting more than 25 years IAF is finally understanding that its obsession to get Russian or French fighters ONLY or for that matter maybe a few US made once had cripelling efects on its future plans

having said that the plans laid down in good old days of last AB Vajabi govt are finally getting clearer than ever after almot 25 years and now after much scuttling IAF knows if it wants to be a potent force and not wants itself to be bullied by France/Europe or Americans or the Russians they will have to have LCA type projects in full force

so here is what its going to be like

all Su30's that could be upgradable (235) maybe will be upgraded with new engines, radar &avionick and weapons

so will be all remaing Mig29s and Mirage2000 in similar way

40+83+97 LCA in various trenches
and AMCA.... i think MK2 will only be a test bed for AMCA

while 36+36+26 rafale while 64 at later stage while 36 Su57

rest everything will be talk talk and more fancy talk ........Jai ho bahi log

You are underestimating Rafale bro.... Rafale is certainly not as weak as you are saying...
 
Yall are getting ripped off, seriously. You guys aren't gonna get in for a long time as the wait list of buyers is so damn long. On top of that, by the time you guys get it, your main two rivals are gonna be leagues ahead; China is already fielding 5th gen and it's navy will field a 5th gen as well by the time India gets more Rafales in any meaningful numbers. Pakistan will also start field 5th gens, albeit in smaller numbers, but even a small amount will outclass any amount of Rafales India brings to the table.

So what is even the point?
Just invest in either the Russian Su-75 and hope it turns out better than the T-50-FGFA program, buy the Su-57 off the shelf (even if it is the worst 5th gen, at least it'll be better than the Rafale), or cut a deal with the US and buy the F-35 which Trump will be more than willing to sell, as he clearly doesn't give a shit about India buying Russia air defense systems.

But your government isn't gonna do that. It's defense is too bureaucratic and politicized to take such actions.

At this point, even Pakistanis are starting to feel bad for you guys.

sure Su57 is faster can fly higher and more agile than rafale but then rafale has still something that niether super sukhoi or su57 or LCA can bring to war and thats what this expensive frenchie brings

its like even though Russian Vodka is more potent and gives you better time with women you still like to flaunt your prestige with a bottle of pink champane ;) :P

USAF are taking the J-35 seriously, as is most of the West. Only people passing comments who are anware of it's capabilities are Indian online fanboys. Tells you everything.

J-20/J-35 are world class 5th Gen. Rafale had it's first flight in 1986.....

USAF will obviously take it seriously.... they have a habit of showing a scare crow to squeeze more funds.....

No matter what you say I will never trust any Chinese 5th generation against western fighters like Rafale or Typhoons or even F16Vs.....

Imagine if India was Chinese ally and buying J10 and Pakistan fielding western fighters all we would have heard how India buying Chinese junk.....

Just because they're your supplier doesn't make their products are invincible.... if it was the case by now China would have captured Arunachal Pradesh or ladakh.....

And my argument is not even about what are you buying.... it was just to wake up that poster from his lalala dreamland..... not a single J31 in service.... we don't even know how will be the geopolitics in next 5 years and he is already on high blood pressure and feeling bad for India..... let that psudeco Chinese 5th generation join we will discuss then..... this thread is about Indian naval procurement.....
