Looking at the videos of piles of rubble that used to be northern Gaza, I am hard pressed to think what those restrictions might be?

This was the technique used in Afghanistan to neutralize the tunnels. If a few of these bombs are used, the tunnels in Gaza can be destroyed but at the risk of higher casualties than with smaller bombs.

I don't think too many of the hostages are alive. Anyway, they will get killed by a long-drawn-out war. Trump may prefer to finish it fast and declare 'victory' or 'peace'. It may sound strange, but if they had used these tunnel destroying bombs earlier in the war, there might have been fewer casualties. They could have moved all the people to the South of Gaza strip and blown out tunnels on the north side and repeat for the other side. 'Precision' bombing each structure at a time will cause much higher collateral casualties than if they had moved everyone away and blown up the tunnels.

This is just a bluff out of desperation. Trump can't be seen negotiating with Hamas when he has to make a deal with Putin. That leaves him no option but to make threats. He wants Israel to stop as well if there are no hostages Natyahu has no leverage left to continue the war.
