I have a feeling that at this stage that Syria/Iran/Russia will decide to let Aleppo and Hamah stay in the hands of the rebels and not try to get them back. They were caught napping and so have paid the price.

They will spend too much resources to get them back and it may cause far too many civilian casualties now to drive the rebels out, that are embedded in these population centres.

SAA needs to build a defensive line in the northern coastline and north of Homs in order to stop any further rebel advance and threatening the Russian bases/Damascus that are crucial to defend Assad.

The problem is that the "Syrian opposition" does not exist, it is in fact Israel + USA + blackops groups created by the CIA such as Isis and Alqaeda (and other acronyms that these groups have). So, as a strategic form, it is "less worse" to stay the way it is(with Assad or other in his name) than with Israel + the USA controlling everything, remembering that the global Zionist plan is to exterminate all Islamic people: whether they are Palestinian or not, their objective is to eradicate the islamic religion and its culture.
