I have seen firsthand the consequences when one man/woman thinks of the country as his/her own personal property. It never leads to anywhere good.

Maybe it is because they got beef with the U.S? I don't know. Sorry if I sound ignorant, but I find Iranian strategy chaotic and confusing. I see no clearcut general strategy here.

There are more effective ways to deal with the Zionists. It is not just Israel, but the underlying systems they have placed in places of power.

Iran is a big beautiful country with a rich history and plentiful resources. It would make more sense to do business with Iran relative to Israel. All the Iranians need to do is to make their country seem more palatable. How they will do that is something they need to figure out.

But they (Zionists) need to tone down their aggression like 'liberate Iran', 'Bring back the Pahlavis' and some other corny statements. These kind of attitudes do not bring any confidence.

No,no...Sinan it's a bit more complicated. Look,in all seriousness,we all know there were problems with the Syrian government for decades. Everybody knows that.

And I've said it many times,it wasn't the best democracy or even a democracy,but it was a nice country that had far more freedom than let's say Saddam's Iraq or Revolutionary Iran.

It was a country were all faiths were protected. It was a safe haven for the christians of the Sham,the Alawites,the Shia,the Druze.

There were big problems with suppressing ethnic groups,not recognizing their language or giving them some autonomy. For example the Kurds,the Turkmens,the Cretan Muslims etc.

The regime was strict,the propaganda was the same in the 21st century as it was in the '90s and there was no imagination and no solutions for the economy.

But I think the biggest problem of Syria was the government's stubborn refusals and unbending nature to various issues. Even when the country was in danger,the government wouldn't negotiate with the Kurds for a federated solution.

They wouldn't negotiate for years with the Israelis. Some might say that's a good thing because it shows integrity. Maybe it is,maybe it's not. I don't know.

They wouldn't let go of Russia and Iran. Some might say that is good too.

But the outcome is: Syria has been completely destroyed and up for grabs.

Nah,it's just a cool map my Pak friend sent me earlier. But some...or a lot of Turks actually do want that. I'm not saying it will happen,I'm just saying many in Turkey want that and Erdogan wouldn't mind trying having a bit of it.

Edit: Yes,Turkey does want to annex islands in the Aegean. I don't know if they would try for Western Thrace,but the Aegean yes. And that's mostly because of the EEZ

The Soviet Union was why NATO existed.

NATO should have logically disbanded after the Soviet Union fell,but that's just not practical. On the contrary,they expanded. And the funny thing is,they still have Russia as priority and not China which is stronger.

Turkey is far too important for West . Turkey won’t lose membership of NATO they’ll lose a few privileges.
