Is it a coincidence that Iran has hit taRgets in Iraq and Afghanistan in the last week? Is someones finger a bit hot in Tehran? Have they just remembered this at this sensitive time with ongoing activity in Gaza and Yemen?
My honest analysis - hope this now festers out and things dry up - do both parties want an escalation?

The wording by Pakistan is interesting. It calls them 'Pakistani origin terrorists' in a clear face-saving to Iran that no Iranians were targeted in the strikes.

This makes it even more credible that the whole operation was coordinated with Iran and no further escalation is likely.

I think no Pakistani in their right senses wish to have a war with Iran. Every Pakistani wants to have peaceful relationship with Iran. We share a border and we cannot change this reality.

Peace is the only solution for both of us

I really don't see what purpose there is in straining relations between the two countries over this issue. They both have the same common threats in the region. If anything, they should be working closely together, maybe even setting up a task force, conducting joint operations, and sharing intelligence to pacify the lawless area and target the threats for both countries, not to mention potential threats from Afghanistan.
