Footage of underground tunnels of the former Syrian army has been published. The Syrian army previously used these tunnels to store military equipment and R-17 ballistic missiles of the 9K72 Elbrus complex, also known as Scud. The 9K72 Elbrus missile system was developed in the USSR in 1957. The Syrian army used Scud-B, Scud-S and Scud-D missiles, developed from 1964 to 1985.

A US man, detained for months in a Syrian prison after entering the country on foot, has described being freed by hammer-wielding men as rebels overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

The man - who later identified himself as Travis Timmerman to the BBC's US news partner CBS - was found by residents near the capital Damascus.

It comes as rebels say they intend to close Assad's notoriously harsh prisons and track down those involved in torturing or killing detainees.

"We will pursue them in Syria, and we ask countries to hand over those who fled so we can achieve justice," said rebel leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammed al-Jolani.

Correct, but who is not very closely tied to the West financially? The entire international financial system is a Western creation to begin with and the dollar still reigns supreme. China cannot decouple itself from the West economically either. The rise of China would have been impossible if decoupled from the international system. China's emergence was due to becoming the manufacturing hub of the world.

The US is also the by far largest trade partner of China.

Also let us be honest an organization where China and India is a part of, is doomed to failure. Also South Africa (LOL) as one of the 5 main pillars. Come on. I think that countries should be cooperating directly with nations outside of those coffee clubs. Even the UN where everyone is a part of is mostly a failure and a very ineffective system but one could argue that there are no other alternative.

BTW, I am not against KSA becoming a BRICS member but I cannot see what we would gain that we cannot gain directly by cooperating with China, India, Russia, Brazil and all those countries that we already deal with directly.

He has point that issue has to be addressed but there are more urgent matters to be solved before concentrated effort on jews occupation.
