Bangladesh Air Force

The Chinese do not have the confidence to offer us the J-35 or any fifth generation fighter for that matter as of now. Our reputation as a trusted partner is not that great which is in big part thanks to the AL and their lackies. Money is also a factor.

I don't know about Dr. Yunus. The man is too exceptional.

In essence not even J-10CE will be offered now to BD.

It needs a democratic government to come into place and at the least be seen as "not hostile" to China and some semblance of political stability.

J-35A has a specific export version in development and so they would not be too worried about "technology leaks" as it would have different radar, avionics and even missiles than the PLAAF version. There is even a possibility it may have a different engine as well.

People think that China will restrict J-35A like US does with F-35A and that is simply not the way China operates. BD does not need to be 'closely aligned" to China to obtain J-35A.

I beg to differ. Our reputation with regards to information security is not good. The underlying reasons are too bizarre to discuss here.

Unless they are sending a barebones plane, fifth generation aircraft technology are very sensitive information. That said, if we are to procure a preliminary version of J-35 under these circumstances, BD may ultimately need to come up with something of its own for enhancements.

I agree and China will likely need BD to convince it of multiple security measures to stop data and information falling into the "wrong hands".

It won't be a case of China not trusting BD as in malicious leaking but more due to incompetence and lack of technical ability.

China under a democratic BD government and political stability will work to set up the secure infrastructure to allow J-35A to be exported to BD.

Really? But how likely is it since this here is IMO more a fan-boy!

Honestly, since IDRW is reporting it, so it can only be wrong!

It's not even a valid speculation. Because MRCA tender very specifically calls for twin engine platform procurement with specific perimeters defined it it.

It's not been cancelled or altered as of yet. So, I believe Air Chief's comment on effort to acquire MRCA does not include J10CE.

J10CE could be a potential replacement for our aging fleet of 36x F-7. Just an idea.

Not incompetence or technical ability, bro. It is traitorous behavior that severely undermined the confidence with regards to Bangladesh. And this was with regards to a very simple product back in the COVID period. You would be surprised just how easily Bangladesh's reputation be tarnished out of the most flimsy reasons.

The Indians and Americans will undoubtedly look forward for information on the Chinese stealth fighter. And should Trump and Modi stick around by that time we acquire them, they will be extremely ruthless to get their hands on it. Mark my words. Under Tulsi Gabbard (I call her Tulsi Patha), they will do everything possible. She is personally hostile toward us.

Whatever we get be they 4th of 5th gen fighters, we have to make full use of the platform's potential and beyond.

And drones. Drones, drones and more drones. The larger variety, the better. They are the future of air warfare.

I don't think it will land before Trump leaves office, assuming he makes it all the way to January 2029.

I am more relaxed about Chinese concern over "information leaks" and China will be exporting an "export version" which may even have a different less advanced engine for this very reason.

Yes I agree about drones as they are defining the the modern battlefield. BD has already made a start with the propeller trainers and now needs to move to jet trainer with a suitable partner and drone development should also be in full gear.

I don't know. His potential successors are what concern me. Vance lacks maturity while Gabbard is aggressive (particularly against Muslims). Vance being POTUS with Gabbard being VP is a distinct possibility. We should keep our distance from these people as much as possible. They are not, and never will be our friends. That is why we have to be on our toes with those people around.

China doesn’t sell downgraded stuff like the Russians or Europeans. The difference between local vs export models in China is purely the software, language. Everything else remains the same.

News from China is that they’re up for selling j10 to a client in south Asian region.

Could it be Bangladesh? Cuz if it is Pakistan I don’t think they would phrase it like that.

No. That is not the case.

Please follow @Michael excellent posts about the two versions of the J-35 in parallel development.

Under BAL BAF training and organisation was fine. BAF did not fall apart.

But as an organisation it was rudderless, it did not have much support with the political leadership and it did not have much clout against BA or BN. Its war fighting hardware was a joke so it concentrated on logistics and support capabilities to support UN missions. In these they excelled.

BAF has capable people in it but they are demotivated. Without capital investment this is not going to change.
Exactly brother. BAF deteriorated the most in the last 5 years specially under air Chief Hanan. I didn’t follow this space while he was the air chief and it’s crazy how unhinged that person was

I didn’t realize current Air chief was MiG-29 pilot.

Optimistic we see some good developments inshAllah.

We need to be just giving some money to republican and democrats politicians and these so called threats can be very easily neutralised.

No one in US cares that much about BD or India.
