@Michael based on images, videos seen, whats your assessment on how far the design is developed. They are likely leveraging experience from J20, even J35. Although first look of this, if we assumed the CAC prototype is selected we are still looking at what a decade to refine design, for matured systems, engines and infrastructure in place and then another 5 to 10 years for mass production?

Information analyzed based on pictures:

1. 2+1 engines.
Some analysis suggests that the middle engine (with the air intake at the top) is a ramjet engine, used for hypersonic flight.

2, Side-by-side two-seater. This is based on picture identification.
It is determined that it is similar to the J-20S, with the ability to command UCAV formations in the air.

3, It is basically identified as a fighter-bomber.
Note the number of tires on the rear landing gear. It will have a larger bomb load. It could potentially carry a folding UCAV fleet.

you might have flown something, but until you show it to make an educated guess about how advanced your NGAD really is, it's just hot air talk, bragging, coping etc. from your side.
At any rate a 4 or even 6 years gap between US and PRC 6th gen is almost nothing, compared to previous gaps of 28 years for 4th gen (F-14/J-10, though i may be overrating the F-14) and 21 for 5th gen (F-22/J-20).

The US HAS flown NGAD prototypes, there’s no maybe about it.

And you make the false assumption that a Chinese 5th gen fighter is equal to an American one.

I have no doubt that NGAD is more advanced than anything China can produce, and the USAF Secretary holds the same assessment.

I give you that, a PRC 5th gen is not equal to a US 5th gen. PRC studied the US jets, learned their pros and cons, PENETRATED these programs as you yourself complain about and stole terrabytes of data, designed theirs according to all the above and equipped them with newer electronics and weapons. So indeed PRC's 5th gens are not equal to US ones, they are better. If they have a fault is that PRC hasn't built more of them (looking at J-35 here).

As to your and your politicians' "assessment", it doesn't worth the paper is written on, or the kilobytes it takes to post on a forum. Just nationalistic bragadoccio. Show something first, put your money where your mouth is, then we can talk. Until then CAC J-36 and SAC J-X are THE yardstick in aviation technology pinnacle.

Problem is, non-Americans like us don't usually share such blind faith in America like you do.

There better be a reveal flight of the so called NGAD in the next few days/weeks so that the world could acknowledge you have something to answer for China's next gen.. or it would just be seen as America admitting defeat. Game Over basically
