Some groups are more egregious than others. In the tech space, Indians are by far the worst by a long shot. Indians take up over 70% of the H1-B visa, not because they are more skilled but because of rampant, runaway Indian nepotism.
Nobody in the West dares to say anything because of political correctness. If a team was 90% white, people would complain but when a team is 90% Indian -- in a Western country! -- nobody says anything.
As I mentioned elsewhere, I have seen time and again where product quality dropped as the team got filled with Indians. It's not because the Indians are worse on average compared to others, but the focus on hiring an Indian no matter what v/s talent skews the average towards the low end.
In response to your post on the other thread which was closed:
Firstly, I was making the point that immigration by itself does not require a lawyer. In practice, most firms would use a lawyer but that does not detract from my main point that Indians favor Indian immigrants over other workers or immigrants. The immigration legal costs would be the same if they hired an Indian or non-Indian migrant.
Secondly, about tax complications, we are not talking about multinationals moving people back and forth. Visiting employees in a multinational would use the business visa not temp/perm worker visas, which this discussion is about.
Thirdly, I have been in management and hiring roles, and I know first hand how things work in real life. The whole reason consulting companies like IBM, PWC, etc. can charge $3000/day $3500/day for mid level commodity workers is because clients are lazy. Instead of doing any management themselves, they just subcontract all the work, including management, to these companies. These client managers also manage the budgets so it's all baked into the financials. Projects have a program manager, project manager, delivery manager, development manager, scrum master, solution architect, tech architect this lead, that lead.... Many projects have half as many people in management as are doing the actual technical work.
As for your final point, I have worked in gigantic government departments and huge multinational financial firms and I can tell you first hand that this kind of Indian nepotism goes unchecked because of political correctness. These companies make huge efforts to promote non-white people into management and, with so many Indians in management, nobody is going to risk their job and career complaining about Indian nepotism. Gigantic organizations like government departments and multinationals can absorb a surprisingly large amount of inefficiency and waste. I know a government department that shrugged of a $500 million project which was used barely two years before being junked. I know multinationals that wrote off projects worth tens of millions as 'learning experience'. In that context, nobody is going to bat an eye on projects that keep needing more funding because they are filled mostly with substandard Indians -- especially if the management chain to the top is also sprinkled with Indians.
