China could dominate the sky with two flying sixth-generation fighter jets as the US struggles to design one

F-22 Raptor has the credibility of a toilet paper. When Chinese technology surpasses US one day he will have no choice to admit that China has won the Tech Race and shut his trap for once.
He's been living in denial ever since China's GDP surpassed the US in 2017.

Update: Two Chinese stealth aircraft programmes emerge unexpectedly

China has revealed for the first time the existence of two new stealth aircraft currently under development, video imagery of which appeared on domestic social media channels on 26 December. Both aircraft have tailless configurations in addition to other novel design features.

The first aircraft to emerge online appeared to be a high-performance strike aircraft. The aircraft, which has an estimated length of 23 m and an estimated wingspan of 24.8 m, potentially appears to be powered by three engines.

With compound diamond-delta wings and leading-edge extensions (LEXs) nearly up to the nose, the aircraft's design is partially reminiscent of the J-20 family of aircraft. However, the aircraft's rearward design differs from that of the J-20.

The new aircraft's two primary engine intakes are caret-shaped and lack the diverterless supersonic inlet (DSI) bumps present on the J-20 family. A third engine intake is located in a dorsal position, behind what appears to be a cockpit. The resolution of images and videos of the aircraft do not yet confirm if the aircraft is a manned or unmanned platform.

The aircraft is also larger than the J-20, which has an estimated length of 20.9 m and a wingspan of 12.88 m.

Two windows, likely for an electro-optical targeting system (EOTS), can be seen on both sides of the nose of the new aircraft. The aircraft conducted the flight trial in the wheels-down configuration. The video of the flight test shows that it was accompanied by a two-seat Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Company (CAC) J-20S fifth-generation aircraft in factory primer yellow, operating as a chase aircraft and equipped with camera pods.

It's About China, the F-35, and Air Dominance. Lockheed stock dipped as Deutsche Bank downgraded the shares, reversing a mid-2024 upgrade, as Chinese progress in developing jet fighters raises doubts about sales of the F-35.

US 6th Gen family of systems already has two aircraft IN Production:

Penetrating Strike- B-21 bomber
Penetrating ISR- RQ-180

If the Trump administration moves forward with NGAD, as expected, then the Penetrating Counter Air part of the FoS will be in production before the end of the decade.

NGAD will be more advanced than anything China can put in the air.

you need to stop posting outdated 2021 2022 articles, recent development suggests the NGAD project is getting a total revamp, presumably rolled back to blueprint stage since USAF and USN have been bickering over its specs for over a decade and nothing came out of it

also I'm eager to know how tf a jet with 2 or 3 XA-100s could cost less than a F-35!

ACE engines are a core technology of NGAD, and almost certainly will be included in the final production design.

The NGAD review is complete, and the USAF recommends production of NGAD. They’re just waiting on the final go ahead from the Trump administration.

NGAD technology had advanced to the point of final down select and production. The review was only to certify the Air Force is making the right investments relative to the threat environment due to the overall cost of the program.

This aircraft is likely the Northrop Grumman NGAD demonstrator.

Boeing and Lockheeds designs have not been publicly seen.

The RQ-180 is IN Production, and fulfills the Penetrating ISR role of the US 6th Gen FoS.

Come on dude.

There are years of public flight testing before any fighter goes into mass production.

This is the same with every aircraft in history and NGAD will be no different.

Chinese 6th generation project is ahead of US at this point as we have seen two public flying prototypes.

US NGAD full scale demonstrators have been flying since late 2018/early 2019. NGAD technology had advanced to the point where down select on final production design was ready for summer 2024 before the review was initiated. Once the USAF gets the go ahead from the Trump administration then final production design will commence, and test aircraft rolling off the line before 2030.

I guess the boss has spoken: Come on, boys! We gotta show something and show it now!

Will there be Chinese influence in the final production design?

How do you know?

How do you know?

US three stream adaptive cycle engines are ready for full production in 2027. That alone makes it more advanced.

Also 40 years of operational development and utilization of stealth aircraft. US RCS reduction capabilities are state of the art as seen with ELO class B-21 design.

US radar and sensor capability are also state of the art. Will likely feature APG-85 class radar capability at minimum.

Any deadline in the future cannot be trusted with such projects. More often than not they're delayed. Consider your TR-3 example for the F-35 - was delivered over a year late even then it was only good for training and not combat operations. When discussing sixth gen plane "state of the art" goes without saying.

Asking again - Will there be Chinese influence in the final production design?
