Lebanon-Israel War | 2023-present

Unfortunately, in human history, different groups of humans have moved around. I am keenly aware of that being in U.S.A. which is not where my ancestors lived. However, depending on that old history to wage modern warfare will naturally exact a survival response. That is what we are seeing as unusual and excessive use of force by Israel in reaction to October 7 attack.
You seem a reflective chap.

I urge you to uncover the Truth about October 7th. If you are interested I can send you a documentary.

It's by dome investigative journalists from Britain. They did a great job....only 20 minutes long.

The targeted 'people' were terrorists whose only goal was to kill as many Jews as possible, whoever they may be. Israelis didn't plant explosives in toasters or coffee machines. They carefully chose pagers and walkie-talkies used only by Hezbollah. Most ordinary people haven't seen a pager in over 20 years
Please write me in few phrases how many civilians were killed by Hezbolá. Even when they started bombing the north of Palestine they used antitank missiles and drones ti hit military objectives mainly. Just started bombing neighborhoods when Israel did it first. In contraste Israel used spice bombs (900 kg) and JDAM bombs just to target residential buildings in all Lebanon (not just the south). Hizbollah was very careful of hitting most military objectives. Even when they used Fateh 110 they did it in the airport not in residential areas.

While Panetta's words have wisdom, it is inarguable that the ceasefire in Lebanon occurred much faster and with fewer casualties than the one in Gaza. It might have also led to a bloodless revolution in Syria (and even prevented an escalation of hostilities between Iran and Israel). If a war is inevitable, one should always prefer a war with fewer casualties and destruction.
Have you realized that because it is Israel in the Middle East It is not possible to develop a democracy in that area?.

Do you know why?. Because the zionist (terror) state cannot live together with a muslim democracy. There was an experiment with Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, but when that cabinet were elected democratically, Netanyahu and Obama stepped back. Because the next target would be Israel.

That is the reason why Israel and US carefully supported dictatorships around all countries around Israel. As they did it again in Syria.

So all in all it is a paradox that this prothesic state (It depends on the constant flow of "military help" for survival) needs to be rounded by military dictatorships.

Majority of Hezbollah-affiliated bank branches reopened after Nazi Israel claimed it had destroyed all of its offices across Lebanon

Hezbollah Post-War: Al-Qard al-Hassan

During the war, Israel announced it had destroyed all Al-Qard al-Hassan offices across southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, Beirut's southern suburbs, and the capital itself.

However, the aftermath tells a different story. Just after the end of hostilities, 16 out of 31 offices reopened their doors, inviting depositors to check on their belongings. These branches reassured clients that they could withdraw their deposits in full, recover their gold after paying the loan, or renew their business relationships with the financial institution, which is affiliated with Hezbollah.

This development is a testament to Al-Qard al-Hassan’s resilience and operational durability. Despite sanctions and ustained attacks, the institution has demonstrated its ability to safeguard over $1 billion in deposits, ensuring that people’s belongings remain intact and accessible.

Furthermore, the organisation has gone beyond its banking role to provide critical post-war support. Following an approved compensation framework, Al-Qard al-Hassan is disbursing funds to help individuals repair homes and recover from the extensive damages caused by the conflict.

The swift resumption of services and financial assistance underscores the institution's significance within Lebanese society, both as a financial pillar and as a means of demonstrating Hezbollah’s capacity to rebuild and support its base in times of crisis.

Nazi Israel is warning it does not intend to abide by the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, and intends to stay in south Lebanon beyond the 60 day deadline (due to end in late January 2025)

Israel's stated justification is what it calls the slow deployment of Lebanese Army forces to south Lebanon

We may see a resumption of the Hezbollah-Israel conflict by the end of January

The IAF conducted an IDF and ISA intelligence-based strike, eliminating the terrorist Abd al-Hadi Sabah, a Nukhba Platoon Commander in the Western Khan Yunis Battalion. The terrorist operated from a shelter in the Humanitarian Area in Khan Yunis.

Abd al-Hadi Sabah was one of the leaders of the infiltration into Kibbutz Nir Oz during the murderous October 7th Massacre. Moreover, throughout the war, Sabah led and advanced numerous terrorist attacks against IDF troops.

Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions, intelligence, and aerial surveillance.

"The IDF and ISA will continue to operate against all of the terrorists who took part in the murderous October 7th Massacre," the IDF stated.

Kibbutz Nir Oz commented: "The elimination of the Nukhba platoon commander who led the invasion of Nir Oz is a small in the direction of justice, but true justice will only be achieved when the hostages return home."

Hezbollah is not responding to Israel's violations of the ceasefire (killing / injuring Hezbollah members and blowing up houses on a daily basis) as it has given this responsibility to the Lebanese state

this is so that if Israel fails to honour the terms by the end of the 60 days deadline, Hezbollah will have legitimacy to act again

The 60-days period will be over late January right?

If Hezbollah can start fighting Israel again, that is when Iran will also launch TP3 to coordinate with Houthis and Hezbollah in joint missile attacks on Israhell, right?

Geagea to Qassem: You are the state!

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Thursday commented on remarks by Hezbollah chief Sheikh Naim Qassem about the Lebanese state’s responsibility in confronting Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement.

“Sheikh Naim Qassem has said that the resistance had prevented the enemy from advancing and that the Lebanese state now has a chance to prove itself. Sheikh Naim, the state is you now. You have the sweeping majority in the government, so take the appropriate stance,” Geagea said in a post on the X platform.

Qassem said Wednesday that "there is now a chance for the Lebanese state to prove itself (against Israel's violations) through political action."

Noting that any attack on south Lebanon is "an attack on the state and the international community," Qassem said "the Lebanese state is the side responsible for following up on the ceasefire with the agreement enforcement committee."

Far more terrorists than civilians were killed in Lebanon war

Hezbollah used to publicly announce and celebrate all of its "martyrs." As of September 23, it said that it had lost 513 members, and as of that point the vast majority of deaths in Lebanon had been terrorist group members.

Since then, when Israel escalated its air and then limited ground campaign against Hezbollah, the group stopped admitting any deaths besides prominent leaders. Instead, it adopted the Hamas model of pushing a narrative of Israel killing nobody but civilians.

Lebanon has announced 3,402 deaths between September 15 and the ceasefire on November 27. How many of those were terrorists?

L'Orient le Jour attempted to find out.

A Syrian researcher with the nom de plume of Qalaat al-Mudiq has been scouring Facebook to count the number of funerals held in southern Lebanon for Hezbollah fighters. So far, they count 1,742 Hezbollah members killed in that timeframe plus 80 members of other militant groups. However, they note that this is a conservative estimate:

"Fighters whose affiliation with Hezbollah was unclear were excluded, making this a conservative estimate,” they explained.

They added, “The analysis indicates that Hezbollah has lost an average of nearly 20 fighters per day since Sept. 23, particularly Syrian war veterans and young reservists. The actual number is likely higher, exceeding 30 per day based on our monitoring, but we lacked the resources to verify all cases.”

If the number is 31 per day for those 65 days, then at least 2,015 terrorists were killed - about a 1.4 to 1 ratio of terrorists to civilians.

Lebanon says that 1,040 women and children were killed in that time period.

One other detail to note from the article is how many foreign forces allied to Hezbollah have been killed:
Although not exhaustive, L’Orient-Le Jour identified several dozen foreign combatants likely killed in Lebanon, despite Hezbollah's denial of deploying external forces.

Among them are five Yemeni fighters affiliated with Ansar Allah, the official name of the Houthi rebels, six Syrians associated with Hezbollah in Syria and Islamic jihad. Additionally, two Iraqis from Kata'ib Hezbollah, one Iranian from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and one Saudi member of the Saudi branch of Hezbollah have been documented. Various Palestinian factions present in Lebanon have also suffered losses.

At the moment, it appears that the ratio of militants to civilians killed exceeds 1.4 to 1; if you include all deaths since October 7 in Lebanon the ratio is closer to 1.9 to 1.

These numbers aren't perfect. A few dozen have been killed since the ceasefire, the total militant count includes about 40 Hezbollah members killed in Syria, and bodies are still being found in the rubble. But it seems pretty clear that this is an exceptional result for urban warfare and that Israel's warnings to civilians to leave areas saved thousands of lives that could have been lost if any other army was fighting under similar circumstances.
